On a regular bike ride through her hometown, Sarah Penso was completely taken by surprise when she found herself bringing home an unexpected new friend—a tiny puppy.
As a competitive mountain biker, Sarah was determined not to skip her training session during a visit to her parents.
Things were going smoothly until she spotted a small white furball racing down the mountain behind her, barking incessantly for attention.
Puppy Distribution System
Noticing the puppy, Sarah immediately stopped to search for any signs of a nearby home where he might belong.
Her heart sank when she realized that the pup had likely been abandoned; there was no house in sight, nor anything else.
Initially, she thought the puppy was barking as a defense mechanism, but it became clear that he was pleading for help.
“I found him far from any house. If he had an owner, he wouldn’t have been so far away,” Sarah shared on an Instagram post.
Understanding that the little puppy was alone and in need, Sarah made a quick decision — she would take him home to ensure his safety and provide him with a loving environment.
“I tried to put him in my backpack, but I couldn’t. Nevertheless, he seemed to understand me and started following,” Sarah explained.
The puppy initially ran after Sarah but soon grew tired, allowing her to gently place him in her backpack, perched comfortably as they continued homeward.
Living Her Best Life
Initially, Sarah believed the puppy to be male, naming him Gasparin. However, a vet check-up revealed that the puppy was actually female, leading to the new name—Neblina.
“Since her arrival home, she’s been spoiled and relaxed. The vet confirmed she’s a healthy girl and administered her vaccinations,” Sarah updated on Instagram.
Sarah and her family quickly fell head over heels for little Neblina, who rapidly established herself as the beloved princess of the household.
As the holiday concluded, Sarah prepared to return to her home in the capital, regrettably unable to secure a plane permit for Neblina.
Thankfully, the little pup thrived with her grandparents, who quickly grew to adore their furry granddaughter as much as Sarah did.
“She gets into all sorts of mischief! She loves swiping candy from her grandpa and gnawing on grandma’s plants, but she’s definitely the most pampered pup in the house,” Sarah shared.
Neblina has grown significantly since her adoption, yet she always remembers the special bond she shares with her rescuing mom.
When Sarah visited after some time, Neblina erupted with joy at the sound of her mom’s voice. At night, she would snuggle up to Sarah as she once did when she was just a tiny puppy.
