When I first learned about Keller’s journey, my heart ached.
How could such a sweet and affectionate boy find himself without a loving family? What led him to such loneliness?
These thoughts reminded me that no matter how devoted a companion you might be, there are circumstances you cannot face alone. Through no fault of his own, Keller found himself at a shelter, pleading for a chance from those who passed by.
The silver lining? He never lost hope that a kind soul would eventually see him!
A Sweet Boy in Search of a Home
As of now, rescuers are still piecing together Keller’s history. Prior to joining PupStarz Rescue in New York City, he was sheltered elsewhere.
He was transferred from a partner shelter in Tennessee to PR, marking the start of a new chapter in his life.
“This affectionate senior pup is looking for his forever home where he can enjoy his golden years filled with comfort and love,” stated PR in a Facebook post.
From the moment he entered his new temporary home, Keller has proven to be a real sweetheart. His lively and friendly demeanor touched everyone around him, making him the rescue’s darling in no time.
Keller soon found a foster home with a lady named Kristen, and his joy was palpable.
“His affectionate nature and gentle soul make him an instant favorite among all who meet him. Despite appearing deaf, Keller doesn’t let that stop him. He is a resilient little guy, spreading joy wherever he goes,” stated the rescue.
Considering his senior status, witnessing Keller thrive has been truly remarkable. He has refused to let age define his spirit—even after undergoing dental surgery due to his hearing challenges, which led to losing all of his teeth.
Surprisingly, being a toothless senior at the age of 10 has only added to his charm!
“His tongue adorably hangs out most of the time, giving him the sweetest and most lovable appearance,” the rescue noted.
Wishing You Joyful Golden Years, Keller
Keller has spent months bringing nothing but happiness. He is a genuine lover who delights in walks and those long cuddle sessions with his foster mom.
And when he’s not busy showering humans with endless kisses and hugs, Keller enjoys playtime with his canine friends. Despite his smaller size, he never hesitates to forge friendships with larger dogs!
It’s safe to say that Keller is the complete package, and he would be a fantastic addition to any family ready to welcome him. Fortunately, he didn’t have to wait too long!
Last month, Keller was fortunate enough to find two kindhearted humans who came to the rescue, eager to adopt him.
Upon realizing that he was finally going to a forever home, Keller’s joy was unmistakable. He was ecstatic to receive a family ready to embrace him wholeheartedly.
After all the searching, Keller is finally where he was always meant to be – in a loving home, ready to enjoy his golden years to the fullest!
