Not every dog gets the chance to enjoy a happy life in a loving home, safely distanced from doubt and fear. Many of our canine companions endure a life filled with hope, wishing for a day when they will finally be noticed and loved… but that day often never arrives.
Amid a multitude of stories reflecting neglect, a pair of hopeful eyes peered out from a kennel, yearning to be seen. He spent countless days in a city shelter—a place where stray dogs reside until someone comes to claim them.
But no one came for him. He didn’t have a family to rescue him; all he held onto was hope.
A Heart-Wrenching Rescue
Thanks to the incredibly compassionate team at Howl Of A Dog, this 10-year-old dog was discovered in one of the kennels. He sat there with a calmness that betrayed the turmoil within, yet his eyes spoke volumes.
If they could voice their thoughts, they would likely plead: “Please, save me, humans. I’m not doing well!”
He was severely emaciated and showed clear signs of numerous health problems.
“We rescued this dog from the city pound; he was malnourished and injured, and sadly, had never received any medical attention there,” the Howl Of A Dog team shared in a Facebook post.
The most heartbreaking part of this story was that he didn’t have a name. Only an ear tag identified him, reducing him to a mere number until that day.
Battling Numerous Health Issues
The compassionate volunteers welcomed the pup into their facility, providing him with hope for the first time… and a name! He was now known as Timmy.
Regrettably, Timmy’s condition was far from perfect. His fur was infested with fleas and lice, and his matted coat required complete shaving.
Furthermore, he was diagnosed with anaplasmosis, a serious tick-borne illness that causes significant lethargy, loss of appetite, and dehydration. He was incredibly weak. Additionally, he suffered from gastroenteritis and had an old fracture in his leg.
For years, he endured that pain, yet he never ceased to hope for brighter days ahead.
Thanks to the unwavering support of those who refused to abandon him, Timmy was finally able to experience walking on grass for the very first time. Having lived confined in a small, concrete kennel, he had never known the taste of freedom… until now!
With proper medical care, he grew stronger each day. Slowly, he emerged from his shell and resumed a normal eating pattern.
Beyond the scars and injuries of his past, a vibrant pup emerged, eager to embark on new adventures in life. Timmy was absolutely filled with life, yet he never had the opportunity to showcase how adorable he truly is… until now!
He’s No Longer Just a Number
After all this time, it’s safe to say that Timmy is no longer just a number! He has a name, a story, and a wonderful group of friends who will care for him until he finds his forever home.
Timmy has been neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. Now, it’s only a matter of time before this sweet boy meets his forever humans and enchants them with his delightful personality.
When that day comes, it’s clear he will make an incredible companion!
