Adopted Dog Discovers Ideal Family in Connecticut, Only to Endure a Heartbreaking Goodbye Shortly After

Date:

Few things can compare to the thrill of a dog about to be adopted. If you’ve witnessed this heartwarming moment, you know the joy of a frantic tail wag, gleaming eyes, and a heart that screams “I’m finally going home!”

Meet Prince— a black-and-white dog with medium-long fur, an innocent soul, an ideal temperament, and the most beautiful smile! During the crucial encounter of his life, he radiated all of this. Sadly, not long after being adopted, Prince had to face a nightmare again.

Prince Just Wanted To Be Loved

Thanks to the Connecticut rescue organization, PawSafe, Prince was rescued from a high-euthanasia shelter where he replaced uncertainty and neglect with a safe, nurturing environment and caring people. Once Prince was strong enough to start anew, he was given a golden opportunity.

A kind man from Connecticut fell in love with Prince and made a heartfelt commitment, resulting in a perfect day for both. It was a defining moment of joy for Prince, marked by a loving touch from his new dad and the promise of adventures ahead. Unfortunately, that happiness was short-lived.

What started as a dream ending for Prince turned into a nightmare. Shortly after his adoption, he found himself back at the shelter as his owner was offered a job that required extensive travel, prompting him to abandon Prince without a second thought. “Sadly, his owner became too busy with his own forever to remember Prince’s forever and he’s back at the shelter,” PawSafe lamented in a TikTok post.

Let’s Start All Over Again

Now, Prince must start over again. Heartbroken and confused, this sweet dog is trying to understand why he was returned to the same shelter from which he was rescued. The good news is, Prince will quickly warm up to his caregivers, as he is naturally friendly and well-trained, adjusting easily to various social situations.

“He’s a very sweet boy, housebroken, crate-trained, and gets along well with everyone. While his photos do not do him justice, he’s a perfect blend of sleek and scruffy. Though he’s been bounced around a bit while his previous owner traveled, he has adjusted wonderfully each time,” the rescue remarks.

Hopefully, Prince won’t stay long in the rescue. He’s familiar with a home environment, and the rescue setting isn’t ideal for him. Prince and his loving caregivers truly hope his new family is just around the corner, ready to keep him and love him for good.

Good luck, sweet boy!
