Abandoned Senior Blind Dog Who Lived on the Streets for Years Seeks Unconditional Love

Date:

Do those who abandon their dogs ever realize the heartache these loyal companions endure when they lose the only home they have ever known?

Feeling unwanted and forsaken, these helpless pups roam deserted streets, yearning to find a caring human who can restore their hope.

Bailey, a senior dog with blindness and partial deafness, understands the deep sorrow of losing everything.

She was adopted from a shelter as a puppy, but her owners later abandoned her, leaving her to survive in the streets.

Dragging her weary body along the pavement, she sought a hint of human kindness.

After a decade of searching, rescuers from the Baldwin Park Shelter in California discovered Bailey wandering the streets and were determined to help her.

Upon taking her in, they found her skin was in poor condition due to painful infections caused by severe flea allergies.

The compassionate team at Wags and Walks, a non-profit organization, rescued her from the shelter.

Seeing her for the first time was heart-wrenching for them.

“When we first encountered her up close, it was truly heartbreaking. We weren’t prepared for the visible signs of neglect, including the condition of her crusted-over eyes and troubled skin,” Erica shared with The Dodo.

The courageous rescuers took Bailey under their wing and enveloped her in love, ensuring she felt their support.

Bailey felt safe and loved with each gentle caress from her rescuers.

To their surprise, she showed an incredibly sweet nature. They had expected her to be shy and fearful, having suffered at the hands of humans before.

Instead, Bailey placed her trust in these kind souls, absorbing all the affection they offered her.

Bailey couldn’t hide her happiness; her tail wagged energetically, and her face radiated joy whenever she received cuddles from her rescuers.

Though naturally blind, Bailey skillfully adjusts to her surroundings. While she occasionally bumps into obstacles, she remains undeterred.

She is undergoing the necessary medical treatments.

Given her extended life on the streets, she now wears sweaters to shield her skin from harsh weather conditions.

In Search of Loving Forever Families

Moli, a generous foster caretaker, met Bailey and was charmed by her gentle nature.

“She just appeared so sweet, so lovely. She really needed a safe space, and I was eager to help,” Moli expressed to The Dodo.

She welcomed Bailey into her home, showering her with affection. Every time Moli pets her, Bailey grins from ear to ear.

The joyful pup was finally receiving the love she had missed for so long during her years of solitude.

Though she revels in the affection of her foster home, Bailey yearns for a permanent, loving family.

She desires to find humans who will embrace her unconditionally, accepting her as she is.

Bailey enjoys spending time outdoors, and her foster mother suspects that she would flourish in a home with a spacious backyard to explore.

It’s my hope that this lovely dog in California finds a forever family that will cherish her for life.

After enduring so many lonely years filled with neglect, Bailey truly deserves to be treasured and loved eternally.
