For much of their formative period, they find themselves scared and desperate for help. Most would do anything for a moment of recognition from humans.

The Story of Little Abby
Upon Abby’s arrival at a Houston shelter, she was discovered in a box. A rescuer named Dina shared with The Dodo: She was this tiny, frightened puppy trembling with fear.
It was evident that she was covered in blisters and was in dire need of medical attention.
Her skin treatment provided some relief, allowing Abby to relax—so much so that her little tail would start wagging.
Dina recognized Abby’s fierce will to overcome her situation and live a normal dog life, so she decided to foster her and support her transition into a healthier existence.
As time passed, it became clear that Abby’s blisters lingered, and her situation was not improving significantly.
This took a toll on her emotions, as she was in pain and yearned for relief. Consequently, she was taken back to the Houston vet for further evaluation.
After several tests, the veterinarians discovered that she was suffering from a rare skin condition. With a diagnosis in hand, they began the appropriate treatment.
A Bright Smile Emerges
Shortly thereafter, there was a remarkable improvement in Abby’s overall health and mood.
Dina commented: She began to come out of her shell, playing with the other dogs and responding to treats.
She also noticed how Abby became increasingly playful, prompting her to purchase some toys for her enjoyment.
Moreover, they started taking regular walks, and it seemed that nothing brought her more joy than exploring the great outdoors.
Now that Abby has fully recovered, the search for her forever home begins. Dina remarked: She has a number of unique traits.
Despite her recovery, her scabs left her without fur on her head, giving her a gremlin-like appearance.
Additionally, her teeth came in with an underbite, causing her to perpetually appear as if she has a cute grin.
Before long, Abby would meet her new family, who would take this sweet puppy to her forever home.
While not much is known about them at this point, one thing is certain: Abby now has a loving family who will cherish and care for her.
