How can anyone possibly turn away from a dog’s smile? Or their exuberant, joyful tail wags?
The answer is simple – you can’t!
Neither could the compassionate rescuers who found Professor Plum, the Pittie mix left tied to a tree in St. Louis, Missouri.
With his unfortunate past behind him, this lovable dog couldn’t contain his joy upon realizing his life was about to change for the better.
A Moment of Pure Joy
Stray Rescue of St. Louis, Missouri, has consistently been a beacon of kindness, showcasing heartwarming dog rescue stories. This dedicated team faces challenging situations daily, and in March 2024, it was no different.
The team received a call about a dog who had been abandoned and tied to a tree in the city, prompting them to spring into action.
When they reached the location, anticipating a tough rescue, they were astonished by the dog’s cheerful demeanor!
“As we approached the pup, it was as if he was saying, ‘Oh thank goodness, yes come help me! I’m all alone! I’m just a baby boy!’,” the rescue shared on Facebook.
At just a year and a half old, the Pittie was still very much a puppy in need of care. When help arrived, he embraced their presence, showcasing how genuinely happy he was to be saved.
He immediately bonded with his new caretakers, showering them with heartfelt looks and enthusiastic tail wags.
An Unexpected Twist
The most astonishing turn of events occurred merely hours after his rescue.
Professor Plum, as he would come to be known, found a foster home within the same day he was rescued! Following his evaluation, this sweet pup was cleared for foster care and matched with a loving family in no time.
When he arrived at his new (foster) home, the surprise was unforgettable!
In a delightful twist of fate, he was reunited with his foster mom from his puppyhood. Barb Kumar had cared for him and his sister when they were mere weeks old, and now they had a chance to reunite.
The reunion was filled with affection, kisses, and cuddles. This time, instead of his sister, there were two other fur-brothers waiting for him.
The entire family welcomed this Pittie with love, and he couldn’t be happier. After all his recent struggles, Professor Plum was finally safe and set for countless new adventures.
As he begins to meet his new humans, I am absolutely confident that this lovable pup will find his forever home soon. It’s just a matter of time!
