Abandoned Dog Left on Texas Streets Without Her Puppies Faces Euthanasia List, Then a Miracle Occurs

Date:

When animal control found Juni, a stray Pittie, she had recently given birth. Despite their efforts, her puppies remained missing, and the shelter in Houston, Texas, took her in. Known for her sweet nature, Juni bravely faced the pain of being separated from her little ones.

After about forty days at the shelter, she was eager to start anew, but tragedy struck when she was placed on the euthanasia list due to overcrowding. Time was short; she needed someone to rescue her.

Rescued At The Last Minute

A woman named Heather, mourning the loss of her dog Briley, stumbled upon Juni’s story on social media. Instantly captivated by Juni’s adorable face, Heather felt a deep connection, believing Juni was meant to be part of their family. “When I saw her face, I just knew deep in my bones that she was meant to be our family,” Heather explained to GeoBeats Animals.

Desperate to save her, Heather began reaching out to various rescues, hoping someone would help. After a long night filled with tears, she woke up to the great news that Dawgs Fight Back had stepped in to rescue Juni from the shelter.

Overjoyed, Heather and her husband decided to adopt Juni, completed the adoption paperwork, and gave her a new home before she was even pulled from the shelter. When Juni arrived in Portland, Oregon, she immediately snuggled into Heather’s lap, radiating love and excitement.

Juni’s New Life

The moment she moved in, Juni felt at home, loving to sleep by her parents and basking in their affection. Her family cherished watching her smile even in her sleep.

When the shelter staff scanned Juni for a microchip, they discovered she had an original family who had lost her during her first year of life. Although they searched for her, they were unable to find her. After Juni was found four years later, the shelter tried contacting her original family for weeks but received no response. It was unclear if the microchip information was outdated or if circumstances had changed for her first family.

Juni brought indescribable joy to her new family, helping them heal from their loss of Briley.

As Heather manages her disability and autoimmune conditions, Juni senses when she is unwell and immediately rushes to provide comfort. “… And she’s just the best nurse. She just wants to lay by me and cuddle and lick your face and make you feel better,” Heather lovingly shared.

Thanks to her loving parents, Juni now enjoys a beautiful life filled with adventures, including running on the beach and exploring her surroundings. From being a dog facing euthanasia to becoming the happiest dog in the world, her transformation is truly heartwarming.
