Abandoned Dog Coated in Toxic Paint Overcomes Fear After Being Rescued by Incredible Heroes

Date:

It’s disheartening to realize that many still overlook the fact that animals possess emotions just like us.

This became evident when a bystander discovered a small Pit Bull daubed in hazardous green paint in an abandoned area near Los Angeles, which left them heartbroken.

The pup, eventually named Clover, was deeply affected by her condition, but fortunately, she was quickly taken to North Valley Veterinary Center, where she would receive the necessary care.

Finally Safe

Upon her arrival at North Valley Veterinary Center, Clover received a comprehensive examination and promptly began treatment to heal her severely burned skin caused by the toxic paint.

“[The vets] provided her with two medicated baths and were able to remove the majority of the paint. She’s receiving plenty of affection and is being spoiled,” Love Leo Rescue shared in a Facebook update about her.

In no time, the harmful green paint was washed away, allowing Clover to reveal her genuine, stunning colors.

After just two weeks under the hospital’s care, Clover’s skin showed remarkable improvement.

Sadly, she still struggled with trust. This prompted Sasha Abelson, the director of Love Leo Rescue, to take Clover home, determined to show her that kind humans still exist.

“Upon her arrival at my home as my foster dog, she was sweet but withdrawn and [timid]. I knew it would take time for her to learn to trust again,” Abelson shared with The Dodo.

After spending time together, Abelson realized that to help Clover fully emerge from her shell, she needed a forever family.

“Clover is about 2 years old and weighs approximately 45 pounds. She is friendly with other dogs, house-trained, and walks well on a leash… She would thrive in a home with a calm environment and a yard to play in. A balanced, calm canine companion would be a great match for her. We would love to find this sweet girl a permanent home for the holidays. After all she’s been through, she truly deserves all the love in the world,” the North Valley vet shared in a Facebook post.

Forever Home

Abelson decided to contact a compassionate couple, Eric and Aubrey, to introduce them to Clover, and if there was a connection, consider bringing her into their family.

Initially, Clover wasn’t fond of Eric. However, after spending time with him, she discovered that he was indeed a wonderful human who would help restore joy to her life.

“Days turned into weeks and then weeks turned into months. It became evident that these two kind-hearted individuals were perfect for this special dog. They provided her with the time and space necessary for her to learn trust and recover from her previous traumas. Witnessing her so loved and enjoying life truly warms my heart,” Abelson expressed.

Eric and Aubrey fell completely in love with Clover and knew she was meant to be part of their lives.

Now, this little family cherishes every moment together, helping Clover leave behind her troubled past and fully embrace a bright future!
