One trait I have always admired in dogs is their intelligence and resilience to overcome challenges in their quest for survival.
Many don’t consider the struggles faced by stray dogs and the lengths they must go to daily in search of food, making it difficult for us to fully grasp their plight.
Yet, I find their determination truly commendable, and it’s a lesson we can all learn from.
Take, for instance, this lovely dog who was striving to survive each day. Despite her many health issues, she held on to hope for brighter days ahead.
A group of rescuers from Stray Rescue of St. Louis discovered her lying on an old mattress near a vacant building, and they couldn’t turn a blind eye.
She Yearned for Assistance
Upon approaching her vehicle, the rescuers quickly understood the gravity of her condition.
The mattress she was resting on was filthy, and the nearby building was boarded up, leaving her with no shelter at night.
They assessed her condition and found that she was suffering from severe mange. Additionally, she was malnourished and desperately hungry.
The dog was visibly delighted to see them, with her tail wagging nonstop as they approached.
The pup, now lovingly named Blush, understood that these individuals were there to provide her with a new chance at life, which she eagerly embraced.
Blush was transported to the shelter in St. Louis, but she required a medical foster home where someone could care for her until her recovery.
She Is Transforming Quickly
The rescuers secured her medication and moved her to a new foster home. She is given medical baths every three days to expedite her recovery from mange.
Throughout her time with her foster mom, Blush has proven to be incredibly sweet. She’s a huge fan of cuddling and enjoys the company of others.
Her foster mom even bought her a stylish weather outfit that suits her adorably. With dedicated care and time, Blush is visibly transforming.
Her mange is clearing up, and she is gradually gaining weight, with improvements that amaze everyone each day.
Blush continues to receive regular veterinary checkups, and she exuberantly expresses her gratitude to those who rescued her.
Given the hardships she endured alone, I am overjoyed that Blush has found someone willing to help her rediscover love.
Her foster mom deserves immense praise for giving her this opportunity, and witnessing Blush’s transformation into a beautiful dog will always lead to countless heartwarming moments.
While we can’t predict Blush’s future or know if she will find a permanent family, I am just grateful that she is on the mend and moving closer to a forever home.
