For over 13 remarkable years, Joeann Knights shared her life with her beloved furry companion, Poppy, a stunning Pit Bull mix.
The extraordinary bond they formed was a true reflection of the happiness they experienced while living life together.
During those 13 years, Joeann was a steadfast friend to her dear Poppy, who also remained a constant source of loyalty until the moment came for her to cross the Rainbow Bridge.
Life With Precious Poppy

As noted by Joeann, their relationship was truly one of a kind.
They relished every moment spent together, embarking on adventures around their town and cherishing each day for the extraordinary bond they shared.
“I never once left her during her 13 and a half years,” Joeann shared with The Dodo.
On challenging days, just looking into Poppy’s sweet, speckled face instantly uplifted Joeann — transforming everything for the better.
Poppy was known throughout her life for her intelligence, loyalty, and delightful surprises.

Joeann lovingly recalls one memorable incident that always brings a smile to her face.
“She had opened the living room window and jumped out into the back garden, and she could not jump back in,” Joeann remembered. When she got home, she had to rescue Poppy, who greeted her with an affectionate hug.
Unfortunately, after 13 wonderful years, Poppy became gravely ill. With a heavy heart, Joeann faced the painful reality that there was nothing that could save her beloved companion, so she had to make the heart-wrenching choice to let Poppy cross the Rainbow Bridge.
Despite the immense sadness, Joeann understood it was the right thing to do.
Signs From Across The Rainbow Bridge

The loss of her dear furry girl was incredibly tough for Joeann. While she still had her two furry sons, Pippin and Darcy, the absence of their mom was deeply felt.
Dealing with the grief following the loss of a beloved pet can be a daunting experience, and it’s vital to permit yourself the space to heal.
Recognizing her mom’s distress, Poppy began sending her signals from beyond the Rainbow Bridge, assuring her that she would always be watching over her.
“I discovered a feather in my cupboard. I was taken aback. It was an unusual color,” Joeann shared. Unsure of its origin, she decided to keep it.

Then, a few months later, she stumbled upon another peculiar sign right outside her door.
“Six months later, I opened my front door, and there was a picture of my girl on my fence made by snails. I cried… I thought I was losing my mind,” Joeann added.

The ‘artwork’ created by the snail looked just like her Poppy’s face — it was astonishing. It remained there for five days before being washed away by rain.
Yet, Poppy’s signs didn’t end there.
Remember that unusual feather?
Six months later, a woman knocked on Joeann’s door, offering a puppy for adoption.
To her surprise, the little puppy had the exact same coloring as the feather Joeann found months prior.

“I went to see the puppy, and she was the same as the feather. I decided to adopt her. I don’t care what anyone says or believes — my girl sent me this puppy,” Joeann stated.
The new puppy’s name is Amber, and she has become a treasured member of the family.
While nothing can truly replace the space that Poppy left, Joeann finds comfort in the knowledge that her playful girl remains nearby, watching over her and eagerly awaiting their eventual reunion.
