A Giant German Shepherd Becomes His Newborn Baby Brother’s Loyal Bodyguard After Falling in Love with Him

For six years, Rex was the sole focus of his parents’ affection, receiving an abundance of love and attention.

When Rex’s parents brought home their first child, Samuel, they wondered if their beloved German Shepherd would embrace the new addition.

As soon as they set the baby carrier down, they eagerly anticipated Rex’s response. Without hesitation, Rex rushed over to investigate.

The large German Shepherd had no idea that his life was about to take a new turn.

Meeting Samuel

At the moment Rex saw his newborn brother, love and tenderness filled his heart.

Rex gently sniffed Samuel’s face.

“He then put his nose right next to Samuel’s face and we knew right then and there that Rex was in love,” shared Rex’s mom with Cuddle Buddies.

From that moment forward, he began to treat Samuel as if he were his own.

The adorable dog constantly watched over his baby brother, never allowing him out of his sight. They became true companions.

Every night, Rex would lie beside Samuel’s crib, ensuring the baby’s safety.

“I’ve never witnessed a dog be so gentle and protective of a baby before,” said Rex’s mom.

Samuel adored Rex as well. The baby would beam with joy whenever the dog licked his face. They delighted in their cuddly moments together.

When Samuel started taking his first steps, Rex couldn’t contain his excitement.

The dog understood they could have even more fun together now. The delightful pair began to relish their time outside, exploring the garden.

Rex and Samuel’s Deep Bond

As their bond deepened, Samuel and Rex grew inseparable, each unable to imagine life without the other.

Rex’s devoted mom cherishes the enchanting connection he shares with Samuel and is excited to see how their friendship develops over time.

“I was filled with concerns about how their relationship might unfold, but their bond resembles a fairy tale. Each day they’re together fills my heart with immense joy, and I eagerly await what the future holds,” she expressed.

Despite having his own pups, Chloe and Phillip, who live alongside him, it is his bond with Samuel that completes Rex’s life.

The joyful German Shepherd has never felt happier.
