A Dramatic Dog Displays Her Acting Skills When Her Water Bowl Runs Dry

Date:

Dogs, much like humans, come with their own unique personalities. While some prefer leisurely strolls, others may find joy in snoozing the day away, and a select few are true drama queens.

One such drama queen is Rhiannon Kostecki’s six-month-old Great Pyrenees, Indigo, who showcases her flair for the theatrical daily. Her antics reflect a profound need for attention.

On days when she isn’t incessantly begging for food or water as if in dire need, she can be found rolling around in the mud, flaunting her muddy coat to onlookers with great pride.

Yet, her most over-the-top performance took place when she emptied her water bowl. In that moment, her acting prowess shone through.

All The World’s A Stage

Kostecki, who recently adopted Indigo, quickly noticed her dog’s flair for dramatics. Yet, nothing captured this better than a hilarious video shared on her TikTok profile.

In the clip, Indigo is shown with her head buried in her water bowl, appearing to be on the verge of collapse, as if she were truly parched. While one might assume this signals severe dehydration, the truth tells a different story.

The video’s text offers further insight.

This performance is so convincing that we might have missed it as merely a dog’s antics if not for Kostecki recognizing Indigo’s flair for drama. Although Kostecki is aware, she remains charmed by her pup’s vibrant personality.

“Indigo is incredibly expressive,” Kostecki told PEOPLE. “She’s fiercely independent and has all these quirky habits. She’s extremely intelligent and gets very excited.”

Kostecki mentioned that they reside on a farm with several water bowls scattered throughout the area, but Indigo has her own preferences regarding which one to use.

“She’ll shuffle it around the house, insisting that water is served in ‘her’ bowl, even when there are plenty available,” Kostecki explained.

Indigo’s behavior often reveals that her cravings for food or water are merely a ruse for attention and theatrics, solidifying her status as a truly unique companion.

“Just A Drama Queen”

The TikTok video featuring Indigo has gone viral, attracting millions and eliciting a plethora of reactions.

“The dramatics are quite pronounced in that one 😂😂😂,” commented one viewer.

“It’s the eye contact while she licks the bowl 🤣,” remarked another.

Someone else humorously added, “And the Oscar goes to…”

Nevertheless, a few viewers expressed concerns about Indigo’s well-being, questioning whether she was genuinely dehydrated and if there were any signs of neglect. Kostecki was quick to address these worries.

“She’s simply a drama queen,” Kostecki reassured, emphasizing her expertise as a veterinary technician with 15 years of experience.

“I have dedicated a lot of time to educating others about animal care and well-being,” she explained. “I am actively involved in animal rescue efforts. There is definitely no deprivation occurring.”

The skepticism from TikTok viewers highlights Indigo’s unmatched talent for drama, which has garnered her millions of views. Who knows? She might soon find herself stepping onto the Hollywood stage.

After all, many have made their way to the red carpet through even stranger circumstances, so why not Indigo and her empty water bowl?
