A Blind and Deaf Senior Pit Bull Abandoned at the Shelter Becomes a Valentine’s Gift for a New Jersey Couple

Date:

Have you ever considered the perfect Valentine’s Day gift? How about a dog? Chris and Carrie, a couple from New Jersey, never intended to add a furry surprise to their romantic holiday, but when they met Fetty, it was love at first sight.

This blind and deaf senior Pittie, who defied the odds in his new home, had a rough start. Everything shifted for him one fateful day.

Fetty Went Through A Rough Time

Fetty started his day like any other, but everything changed in an instant when his family chose to surrender him to Waggy Butts & Happy Mutts in New Jersey. The rescue posted, *“Blind and deaf senior in the shelter… He is so confused! Need foster or adopter.”* Although they were taken aback by the family’s decision, the rescue welcomed Fetty, who was looking for someone to care for him despite his challenges.

Initially, Fetty needed a few days to come to terms with the loss of his family. Confused, he took his time adjusting to his new surroundings and craved love.

Then came Carrie!

As soon as she saw him at the shelter where she volunteered, she instantly fell for Fetty. With experience caring for special-needs dogs, she and her husband, Chris, were eager to give him a loving home. By Valentine’s Day, they decided to foster him, not realizing he had found his forever home with them!

“Fetty’s freedom ride smile! Our amazing foster Carrie rescued this blind and deaf senior from the shelter into a safe, loving home. We’re all cheering for you, Fetty,” the New Jersey shelter stated in another post.

Fetty was overjoyed! After facing heartbreak and a stressful environment, he was finally given a fresh start.

He’s A Valentine Miracle

Fetty embodies a happy-go-lucky spirit, cherishing every moment in his new life. Despite being blind and deaf, he confidently moves around the house. He has even learned basic commands and can sense his owners’ presence—remarkable for a dog with his disabilities!

To those unaware of his situation, Fetty appears to be a typical, healthy dog. He walks, runs, and plays as if he can see. Chris and Carrie couldn’t be happier about making Fetty a permanent part of their family. This charming Pittie has officially become a ‘foster fail,’ and his new mission is to create countless joyful memories.

Above all, his family is dedicated to making his golden years unforgettable.

“I’m grateful for you every day, Fetty. The shelter is no place for any dog, especially not a blind and deaf senior. I wish you hadn’t endured what you did, but it led you to your true home,” his owner expressed on Instagram.

Fetty has finally found his rightful place—a warm, loving home, adoring owners, and boundless adventures ahead of him. What more could he possibly wish for?
