Shelter Dog Finally Finds Her Forever Home After Being Overlooked For So Long

Date:

Within their confined kennels, all these shelter dogs long for a loving home. These gentle souls yearn for the comforting touch of a caring person, often proving to be the most loyal companions.

Unfortunately, many are left behind and forgotten. Dogs with particular health concerns or less-than-perfect appearances struggle to find a family, if they find one at all.

Mr. Magoo, a shelter pup from California, was one of those overlooked dogs. His chance came when a kind-hearted woman noticed that his little flaws made him uniquely special!

He Was Passed By Again and Again

Lisa Michele Chiarelli, from Frankie Lola & Friends in Los Angeles, California, visited the shelter specifically to rescue Mr. Magoo.

This sweet boy endured demodectic mange and dog pneumonia and was overlooked for far too long. His appearance made him a less desirable choice for many potential adopters.

He spent countless days witnessing other dogs find their forever homes while he remained confined in his kennel. When he saw Lisa, he couldn’t contain his joy!

His tail wagged and he greeted Lisa with the most adorable smile. His eyes sparkled with happiness, and despite his difficult past, he was overjoyed from the very beginning!

All it took for Magoo to begin letting go of his past was Lisa’s single moment of affection. From that point on, he transformed into a sweet, affectionate companion!

The Perfect Foster Home

Lisa found Magoo a wonderful foster home with Arielle, a long-time foster associated with Adopt the Underdogs, who specialized in caring for dogs with health challenges, and she welcomed him without hesitation!

It took only a few days for Magoo to adjust to his new surroundings. He quickly bonded with Arielle’s other dogs and won the hearts of his new family. He craved loving attention, and Arielle knew just how to provide it!

Arielle diligently administered his medications, especially important given his skin issues and pneumonia. In the early days, Magoo mostly rested and enjoyed his soothing baths.

As weeks went by, Magoo’s health improved significantly, enabling him to start playing and having fun with the other dogs!
