Charlie And Foxy’s Final Evening Together
Foxy, a Pomchi mix who just celebrated her fourteenth birthday, had been struggling with some health complications.
As reported by her owner, Shirley Bovshow, Foxy was experiencing gastrointestinal issues and bloody stools, but was on the mend, and Shirley remained hopeful for a full recovery.
However, it appeared that Charlie, an eight-year-old Puggle, sensed something that others could not foresee.
On the night before Foxy would fall gravely ill and ultimately pass away, Charlie did something unexpected.
This gentle pup entered the room and curled up beside Foxy in her bed, something he had never done before!
“Charlie shocked me by snuggling into Foxy’s cot! He licked her face upon entering, which warmed my heart,” Shirley shared with Newsweek.
Touched by this sweet moment, Shirley filmed their interaction, unaware it was their last evening together.
“I had no notion this would be our farewell with Foxy. In retrospect, I believe Charlie sensed the severity of her illness. They shared a deep bond and understood each other’s needs,” Shirley reflected.
Charlie has always been perceptive, and he must have felt something was amiss with his dear friend, prompting him to stay close.
This was his own way of expressing a final goodbye.
The next morning, Shirley took Foxy to the clinic for her regular medical treatment, but shortly after arriving, Foxy suffered a severe seizure, and the veterinary team was unable to save her.

Coping with Loss
Both Shirley and Charlie are devastated by the loss of their dear Foxy.
“I’m healing slowly and feel a spiritual connection to Foxy,” Shirley expressed.
Adjusting to life without his companion has been equally challenging for Charlie, who has shown signs of distress after losing his closest friend. “He’s started sleeping in Foxy’s cot, the very spot they shared on their last night together,” Shirley noted.
He is gradually adjusting and starting to show signs of his former playful self.
The heart-wrenching video that Shirley shared on TikTok received much attention. Shirley said: “My followers cherished Foxy and Charlie. They left hundreds of heartfelt condolence messages.”
