Jackie was adopted from a shelter as a young pup, and she believed she had found her forever home. Sadly, after spending wonderful years with her owner, her happiness ended when her beloved owner passed away. With no family willing to care for her, Jackie was surrendered to a shelter in Miami, Florida, at the age of twelve, mourning for her owner behind bars once more.
Jackie Finds Hope

During this time, a compassionate woman named Kristen Brown was facing her own heartache; her beloved dog, Luna, had passed away after battling a brain tumor. Brown and her fiancée were ready to welcome another dog into their lives, but first needed time to grieve. Tragically, another blow struck when her father took his own life, leaving her heartbroken. To cope, Brown decided to visit the local shelter, aiming to adopt a dog and share her love with another soul in need.
When Brown asked to see the oldest dog, the staff led her to Jackie’s kennel, where she learned that the senior dog was on the euthanasia list. Immediately, Jackie looked at Brown with sorrowful eyes, as if pleading for help. Brown made a promise to Jackie that she would save her and provide a new life.
Jackie had several health issues, including bronchitis, a lump on her leg, and a severe ear infection that had gone untreated for a year, resulting in a closed ear canal. Nevertheless, Brown was undeterred and couldn’t wait to adopt Jackie and nurse her back to health.
A New Life That Jackie Deserved

Jackie was overwhelmed with joy when her new mom came to pick her up from the shelter. Once she realized she was leaving with Brown, she wagged her tail and beamed. After adopting Jackie, Brown took her straight to the vet for an examination and treatment for her ear infection. Fortunately, the tests revealed that the lump on Jackie’s leg was benign.
Jackie soon filled Brown and her family’s lives with love and happiness. Brown believes that Luna and her late father sent Jackie into her life to help mend her broken heart. Thanks to medical care and the abundant love from her new mom, Jackie’s health improved; her ear infection was treated, and her bronchitis got better with the help of an inhaler.

From a heartbroken senior dog on the verge of euthanasia, Jackie blossomed into a joyful girl who now enjoys her golden years in her Miami home. Special thanks to Brown for rescuing Jackie Lynn and for making her the happiest dog in the world.
