Boo was a delicate newborn pup living on the streets with her mom and littermates. When Animal Control discovered them, they collected the entire family and brought them to a shelter. Unfortunately, upon reuniting with her puppies in a kennel, Boo’s mom rejected and even attacked them. Lacking their mother’s affection and warmth, the helpless furballs were too young to understand her rejection.
Recognizing their need for constant care, the shelter contacted Compassionate Canine Society, a home-based rescue in El Paso, Texas, for assistance. The rescue took in the three puppies, ensuring they were kept warm and bottle-fed every two hours. Everything seemed fine initially, but Boo soon fell ill. The rescue team quickly rushed her to the vet, where she was diagnosed with pneumonia and prescribed antibiotics.

Days later, Boo’s siblings, Sulley and Mike, also fell ill, and the vet was not optimistic about their chances of recovery. The rescue staff showered the puppies with affection, helping them draw strength from the love, and gradually, they began to thrive. Each day brought signs of improvement and the puppies’ personalities emerged. Boo, however, often preferred solitude, finding cozy hiding spots around the rescue.
Eventually, the search began for their forever homes, and Boo soon caught the eye of a woman who decided to foster her under the Compassionate Canine Society’s “Foster to Adopt” program. They agreed that Boo would remain with her new mom for two weeks, after which an official adoption could take place if all went well. The rescue staff were thrilled, hopeful that Boo had found her forever happiness.
Another Heartbreak

However, heartbreak struck again when the woman called the next day to surrender Boo because she cried too much. The staff reassured her she could return Boo if needed, understanding that the puppy missed her siblings and just needed time to adapt to her new environment. That evening, the woman brought Boo back to the Texas rescue. The staff was taken aback to see a bump on Boo’s head, but thankfully it was minor and she appeared well overall.
Despite her return, Boo didn’t let sadness overwhelm her; she jumped back into play as if nothing had occurred. There remained a strong interest in her adoption, and she quickly transitioned to another foster-to-adopt home. We hope this time brings her the happy ending she has always dreamed of, as she truly deserves a joyful and peaceful life after her difficult start.
