A little puppy named Baby Gina has experienced the harsh reality of neglect and abuse. She desperately sought love from her owners, only to be left abandoned in a Bronx apartment building.
Upon realizing she was alone, Baby Gina mustered her last bit of strength and dragged her weary body through the hallways, searching for someone who could offer help.
Rushing Baby Gina To A Hospital
When a compassionate tenant noticed the starved puppy wandering through the building, she immediately went to investigate. Following the trembling little creature, she was horrified to find a brown and white puppy who was nothing but skin and bones, barely able to stand.
Worried for her wellbeing, the woman contacted NYC Second Chance Rescue for help. The rescuers quickly arrived and were heartbroken at the sight of Baby Gina, who was in dire condition, exhausted and vomiting.
After rushing her to the hospital, the vet team conducted an examination and ran blood tests. Baby Gina was found to be anemic with a urinary tract infection. The vets expressed concern about the risk of refeeding syndrome, a dangerous condition.
The veterinary team provided immediate care and created a thorough treatment plan to ensure Baby Gina received the attention she desperately needed. With heartfelt hope, both the rescuers and the veterinary staff prayed for her survival. “There are so many unknowns. We are just praying she can pull through. She is just a baby,” Second Chance Rescue shared in a Facebook post.
The Puppy Starts Recovering
The news about Baby Gina’s rescue quickly circulated on social media, generating widespread concern for her well-being as everyone wished for her swift recovery. Her caregivers lavished her with love and care, and as she gradually felt better, she started coming out of her shell. “Gina remains hospitalized and is doing well — she is happy, loved, and recovering. She even has a bunch of new sweaters to keep her warm while she gains weight,” Second Chance shared on Facebook.
Meanwhile, authorities are investigating the case and doing everything possible to bring those responsible for Baby Gina’s abuse to justice. Her supporters eagerly await her full recovery, hoping she will soon find a loving forever home. This sweet girl deserves a life filled with happiness and love.
