Louisiana Rescuers Devastated to Discover 2 Pit Bulls Stuck in Canal and Quickly Spring into Action to Save Them

Date:

Norman and Francis trembled with cold after being heartlessly abandoned in a Louisiana canal, a common dumping ground for animals unable to escape.

Feeling trapped in the canal, the two Pitties could only hope for someone to come to their rescue. Luckily, a good Samaritan spotted them and alerted Zeus’ Rescues.

Upon receiving the call, the rescue team rushed to the scene, fully aware that the torrential rain would soon fill the canal, leaving the Pitties’ lives in jeopardy.

The rescue team felt heartbroken to find the two sweet Pitties stranded and began speaking softly to comfort them. When Francis and Norman first saw the rescuers, fear caused them to bark nervously, unsure if they could trust these humans. However, once the team entered the canal, the pups realized their intentions were to help, and their frightened barks transformed into excited ones.

With tails wagging and hope in their eyes, the rescuers enticed them with tasty treats to coax them across the canal.

Francis took a leap of faith by approaching the rescuer, who handfed her. This brave pup was the first to cross the canal, securing her safety with the team.

Seeing his friend rescued, Norman jumped over the deepest part of the canal, allowing the rescuers to collect him as well.

With both pups now safe, the team loaded them into their van and transported them to the rescue’s facility in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The team nurtured Francis and Norman, showering them with love and care as they recovered from their harrowing experience. Both dogs displayed a strong affection for people, growing increasingly endearing as the rescuers got to know them. As one of the rescuers, Michelle, shared, “They love to be in the sunshine and will just lay out like a cat in the sun… They’re perfect angels,” as reported to The Dodo.

As Francis and Norman began searching for their forever homes, they were not considered a bonded pair, allowing them to be adopted separately. Norman found his forever family first, while Francis continues to seek her happy ending. We hope that soon she finds the loving home she desires.
