People often underestimate the emotional depth of dogs, unaware that they possess big hearts capable of experiencing a wide range of feelings. Yet, despite this knowledge, many choose to act cruelly, abandoning their loyal companions in dire situations, leaving them with only uncertainty and broken spirits.
Mudder, a soon-to-be momma dog, was one unfortunate victim of such cruelty. Heartlessly tossed from a car in a Missouri park, her owner drove away without a glance back.
The Most Shocking Text Message
The Stray Rescue of St. Louis team, experienced in dealing with heart-wrenching cases, was left stunned when a compassionate passerby sent them a text message about Mudder’s plight.
“Hi Stray Rescue. I just saw this dog get dumped. I’m pretty sure she’s pregnant. Can you help her?”
Responding quickly, the rescue team, led by Donna Lochmann, dispatched to the described area. Notably a common “dumping spot,” this particular case was exceptionally heartbreaking.
Upon arrival, Donna and the team found Mudder gazing over the Mississippi River. She appeared devastated by her abandonment, covered in mud and rain, yet she maintained an endearing sweetness. Despite the trauma, Mudder opened her heart to the rescue team and allowed them to gently leash her.
Despite the cruel act of her owner, a glimmer of trust remained in Mudder. Fortunately, the good Samaritan managed to capture a photo of the license plate of the vehicle that abandoned her. The Stray Rescue plans to collaborate with law enforcement to hold the responsible party accountable.
She Needs Someone To Help Her Start A New Chapter
Unlike her previous ride, this trip with the compassionate rescue team was far more pleasant. Mudder was comfortably seated in the passenger’s seat, where she appeared to feel much safer. Her rescuers even managed to capture an adorable photo of her as she embarked on this new chapter, creating the first memories of her new life.
Now, the pressing question remains: how long until someone opens their home to Mudder?
Mudder will benefit greatly from a foster home to support her through her pregnancy. “Now she’s safe with us. But she needs a foster home where she can finish her pregnancy, give birth, and nurse her puppies in peace,” stated SRSL in their video post.
Once settled in a suitable home, Mudder is sure to reveal her true personality, and I am confident she has so much love to give once her responsibilities as a mother are fulfilled!
