Connie, a senior Labrador Retriever, exemplifies this idea, serving as a reminder that happiness can be discovered in the most ordinary moments.
Introducing Connie
Connie is a senior chocolate Lab with a special talent for brightening the day of everyone she meets.
What makes her unique is her habit of sitting on her bed outside her home, eagerly waiting for her neighbors to stroll by.
Upon spotting someone approaching, she eagerly wags her tail, an invitation showing that she is a happy and approachable dog.
It’s impossible to not feel joy at the sight of her, but the handwritten note affixed to the wall next to her only adds to the delight.
One day, a nearby resident named Becky Albon was taking a walk with her husband when they noticed Connie.
As they drew near, Connie perked up enthusiastically.
That’s when they noticed the note above this adorable dog…
Free Cuddles, Love Connie 🐾
One of the notes above Connie’s bed stated:
FREE CUDDLES: I’m old & arthritic, but still have lots of love to share. Love Connie 🐾
The other note attached on the opposite side of the pillar conveyed a similar message:
FREE CUDDLES 🐾: I’m very old & lame, but love affection. Love Connie xx
As soon as Becky and her husband read the notes, they knew they had to act. They sat down next to Connie for about five minutes, showering her with affection.
“She was incredibly friendly and thrilled to see us. She even let us give her belly rubs,” Becky shared with The Dodo.
All three of them cherished every moment of that encounter, which definitely uplifted their spirits.
Becky later shared their lovely experience with Connie in a popular Facebook group called Dogspotting: “Just went for a walk and met lovely Connie waiting on her doorstep for free cuddles.”
Sweet Connie soon gained international fame, with that post receiving over 14K likes. Many of her admirers made the effort to visit her for some cuddles.
