I can only imagine the thoughts racing through Naco’s mind.

That’s exactly how Naco has felt for several years, all starting in 2018…
But now, Naco’s spirits are high (once again), and it looks like he might finally find his loving forever home.
The Animal Defense League of Texas is actively working hard to connect Naco with his perfect human.

The Teddy Bear Named Naco
Years have passed… Far too long. The autumn of 2018 when Naco first came to the ADL Texas feels like a distant memory… just like Naco.
Dogs have entered and exited the shelter’s doors. Many have found their forever homes, while Naco has remained behind, heartbroken as he watched them leave.
Sadly, no one chose him, leaving the sweet dog who resembles a teddy bear alone and heartbroken.
To make matters worse, Naco has been severely impacted by heartworm. It’s incredibly challenging to find an adopter for an American Pitbull Terrier-mix with this condition. Naco is not the type of dog that draws attention in the adoption process.
“Potential adopters have arrived to meet Naco, but for reasons unknown, they didn’t choose to adopt him,” stated Felicia Niño, the director of marketing and development, in an interview with Newsweek.
It truly baffles why Naco hasn’t found a home yet. He possesses one of the sweetest natures imaginable. He embodies pure joy and happiness, waiting for a chance to show you just that.
