Pennsylvania Woman Glances at Her Flower Bed and Unearths an Incredible Surprise

Date:

Aah… early spring! Nature is waking up, slowly day by day, and before you know it, the days are longer, warmer, and full of excitement. Everything comes alive during springtime, including animals, plants, and even humans. The first spring flowers, those brave little heroes against the cold, peek beneath the remaining snow patches. And, what’s that? Is that a snow patch too? No, it’s definitely a flower! But flowers don’t stare back at you, nor do they shiver from the cold or plead for help.

The early morning brought a special surprise to a woman from Malvern, Pennsylvania. Karen woke up that day completely unaware that she would find…

What Kind Of Flower Is That?

It seemed like it would be a normal morning for Karen, drinking coffee, waking up slowly, and running errands in her head. However, she wasn’t prepared to discover a visitor in one of her empty flower beds. It couldn’t be just flowers; they don’t grow overnight. As she took a closer look, the visitor was staring back at her.

It was a stray dog… shivering and frozen from the cold March weather.

Karen rushed outside with a blanket to warm the trembling pup and a bowl of comforting chicken soup. The poor canine was wet and dirty, and Karen knew she needed professional help. Moments later, she was on the phone with Nicole Asher from Buddha Dog Rescue & Recovery, who advised her to provide more food for the dog to help him relax and to avoid sudden movements.

“Karen calmly and quietly putting out food and leaving her allowed the dog to feel comfortable enough to return,” Asher explained. The hope was that this pup in need would eventually enter the crate Asher had prepared. And to their delight, the dog was incredibly well-behaved! Karen and Asher didn’t have to wait long for the chilly pup to hop into the crate; they quickly rushed her to the Buddha Rescue center to check for a microchip.

And she indeed was! Asher discovered that the dog had been in a foster program with MatchDog Rescue. Her name was Ella, and she had run away two weeks prior. What astonished everyone was the fact that Ella’s foster home was 12 miles away. This girl had walked all the way from her home to Karen’s in Malvern.

“We were beyond thrilled,” Asher stated. “I immediately contacted the number, and after they got over the initial shock, there were lots of happy tears and cries of joy. The president of the rescue came and took her back to her home to decompress and rest after her traumatic time on the run. She settled right in and has become a big couch potato.”

Ella is doing great! From a stray dog found under a bush just after giving birth, she has come a long way to becoming a loving house pet. Now, it’s time for Ella to unwind, relax, and embrace the beauty life has to offer her.
