No dog is inherently broken. It requires a harsh past and irresponsible ownership for these loving companions to lose their innate purpose for companionship, and Pattie is a perfect example!
This lovely white Pittie recently gave birth, yet she was discovered alone, without her puppies. Anxious and traumatized, it’s an understatement to say she has endured so much.
For the past six weeks, Pattie has been with her rescuer, Chris, who showered her with affection. Then, a true miracle came into their lives!
The Journey To A New Life
Chris came across Pattie, along with another dog, meandering through the streets of Thermal, California. The initial weeks were incredibly challenging for this sweet Pittie, as she had endured the loss of her puppies and embarked on a healing journey without adequate care.
Despite Chris’s best efforts to assist her, Pattie remained under significant stress. She damaged a fence and exhibited nervous behavior around people, prompting Chris to recognize the urgent need for assistance.
Pattie’s rescuer contacted The Animal Rescue Center Of California, who promptly visited and met this affectionate pup. Under her anxious demeanor was a true beauty yearning for love and attention.
With assistance from Rescue Lyfe from North Palm Springs, California, the team sought a foster home for Pattie, where she could feel secure and embark on her life-changing journey.
“She needs a place to stay. How she ended up here remains a mystery, but we can only imagine it’s not a pleasant story. She’s the quintessential sweet baby pittie. Good with other dogs,” Rescue Lyfe shared in an Instagram post.
The Sweetest Foster Fail
In just a few short weeks, the team successfully secured a new foster home for Pattie. Jen, a seasoned foster caregiver, was eager to welcome this shy pup into her household.
Pattie’s journey of transformation was not without its challenges, especially in the initial days, but gradually, she began to warm up to her new mom. She started to come into her own and interact with Jen’s other dogs.
Before long, she rediscovered what it meant to be a dog.
Pattie thoroughly enjoyed playtime in the yard with her new siblings and soon blossomed into a joyful pup!
The family supported her in overcoming her past with boundless love and affection, and Pattie was sure to reciprocate. She revealed her delightful personality and demonstrated how truly gentle and loving she could be.
Her foster mom decided to rename her Suki, leading to some wonderful news!
Upon making this change, Suki realized she was no longer just a foster but now a permanent member of the family! Her foster mom notified the Center of her intention to adopt (now) Suki for good!
The Animal Rescue Center of California joyfully announced on their Facebook page:
“Pattie/Suki is officially adopted! She has transitioned from being homeless on the streets to becoming a cherished member of a wonderful family. Finally, this sweet Pittie girl is living the life she deserves. Thank you, Jen, for opening your heart and home. Welcome home, Suki!”
Everyone was overjoyed to witness this once-broken pup completely transform alongside her loving family.
After weathering all the storms and challenges of her past, Suki has finally found her rightful place – in a loving home with people who genuinely care for her!
