We’ve grown accustomed to witnessing the devastating realities of dogs left to navigate the unforgiving streets alone. Unhappily, we are continually shocked by new, horrendous cases stemming from human cruelty and negligence. This instance was no different when a man stumbled upon a sight by the roadside in Iowa that left him utterly astounded.
Upon realizing what it was, his heart shattered. It was at that moment he discovered a plastic trash bag swaying slightly on the side of the road in Des Moines. Curiosity drew him closer, leading to a shocking revelation: a Bulldog’s head was peeking out, with the rest of its body trapped inside, sealed with tape that left the poor creature immobile.
He Couldn’t Even Walk
“At approximately 4:30 PM on December 10th, a dog was delivered to the City Of Des Moines Animal Services facility, 1441 Harriett Street, after being found abandoned alongside the SE 14th Street railroad viaduct.” Des Moines Police wrote.
Upon arrival at the shelter, the dog was in poor condition, weighing only 23 pounds. Nevertheless, the dedicated veterinary team wasted no time in commencing treatment.
Hopefully, Justice Will Be Served
In an interview with The Associated Press, Segregant Paul Parizek reported that the Bulldog is gradually recovering thanks to the commitment of the veterinary staff. However, the sad reality is that the individual responsible for this cruelty remains unidentified. There is, however, a promising clue: “One notable feature of the dog is that its ears have been cropped, suggesting possible prior veterinary care,” the police noted.
They have called upon the community for assistance in bringing the perpetrator to justice, hoping that the Bulldog can find happiness again.
“If you recognize this dog, please contact the Des Moines Police Department,” they asked, providing all necessary details in their post.
We remain hopeful that justice will prevail and that this Bulldog will soon find a loving home and a happy ending.
