Left near a road in Alabama, she struggled alone for days until a compassionate group of rescuers came across her and immediately sprang into action.
They Were Just In Time
Upon arrival, the rescuers were shocked by her condition; she was on the brink of giving birth. They quickly transported her to the shelter where an X-ray confirmed her pregnancy. Locals informed them that she had been left alone for days, which made the situation all the more urgent.
The thought of her giving birth alone in the wilderness is terrifying, with uncertain fates for the puppies. Thankfully, she is now safe, and her rescuers ensured her comfort ahead of the big day.
Expressing her gratitude, Lotus, as she was named, finally found a moment of peace.
Eight Adorable Puppies
Shortly after being taken in, Lotus gave birth to eight delightful puppies, showcasing her nurturing spirit right from the start. She cared for them diligently, always attentive and watchful. The puppies rapidly grew stronger and more playful each day, napping beside their mom most of the time.
As they began to explore and play, it was evident they were healthy and thriving, bringing joy to everyone around.

As the puppies were getting accustomed to their surroundings, the rescuers decided to name them after flowers: Chrysanthemum, Tansy, Portulaca, Lantana, Cosmos, Lupin, Yarrow, and Agapanthus.
A Beautiful New Home
As their journeys unfolded, the rescuers began the process of finding a new home for all the puppies in Alabama. It wasn’t surprising that all eight found wonderful families, receiving the love they deserved.
Lotus’s journey took a bit longer, but everyone was eager to ensure she found a special place too, given her sacrifices for her puppies. Eventually, Lotus was adopted into a forever home.
