California Family Discovers Their Puppy is Unwell and is Shocked by the Vet’s Revelation

Date:

The health and well-being of their dog is one of the biggest concerns for every loving owner. This concern reached a peak when a family from Los Angeles discovered that Luna, their seven-month-old Bernese Mountain puppy, suddenly fell ill. Upon noticing Luna’s vomiting and a firm, swollen stomach, they hurried her to the vet.

As they drove to Corona Animal Emergency Center in Corona, anxiety filled the car. They were deeply worried about their furry friend and hoped for a positive outcome, unaware of the shocking news that awaited them.

The Whole Hospital Was Shocked

Upon arrival at the hospital, Luna was examined by the vet, who quickly ordered an X-ray. The results revealed that Luna’s belly was packed with objects that had caused an intestinal blockage.

After surgery, the team successfully removed all the foreign items, including a onesie that had caused the obstruction. The hospital staff was astounded by the collection retrieved from Luna’s stomach.

“What we found was jaw-dropping: 24 socks, one scrunchie, two hair ties, one shoe insert, one small onesie (from her intestines!), and miscellaneous cloth pieces,” the hospital detailed on Instagram.

After the surgery, the hospital shared X-ray images of Luna’s stomach and a picture of the vet holding the 24 items recovered. Thankfully, Luna’s life was saved, and she has since returned to her joyful self.

A Lesson Learned And A Cautionary Tale

Luna is now recovering well and happily wagging her tail. She is wearing a cone to prevent her from licking her stitches. The staff at Corona Animal Emergency Center has urged pet owners to remain vigilant and ensure their pets do not eat harmful objects.

“Luna’s story is a reminder: trust your instincts. If your pet shows signs like vomiting, lethargy, or a firm abdomen, don’t hesitate — act quickly and contact your vet. Prevention is essential, and we are here for emergencies 24/7,” the clinic emphasized.

Her family is relieved that Luna has returned to health. This experience served as a wake-up call, prompting them to implement measures to prevent Luna from swallowing foreign objects again. They are currently developing a solid prevention strategy, making their home puppy-friendly, supervising playtime, and working with a trainer to cultivate good habits.

With time, Luna will surely forget the troubling ordeal and continue to enjoy her joyful life with her family.
