Daniela, a California resident and devoted dog rescuer, was enjoying a quiet evening at home when she heard unusual sounds coming from outside. Intrigued, she stepped out to investigate and found a little furry surprise waiting at her gate — a young, timid pup gazing at her with pleading eyes.
Despite her fear, the little dog mustered the courage to ask for help, knowing that she had nowhere else to go and that Daniela was her only hope.
The Pup Finds Safety
With a gentle stroke, Daniela reassured the pup, who soon knew she was in the right place. Given some kibble, the dog, later named Bitsy, eagerly nibbled while wagging her tail. The kind-hearted woman took her in, offered more food and water, and even gave her a much-needed bath in the bathroom.
The collar around Bitsy’s neck led Daniela to believe that the pup had been abandoned. Given the condition of Bitsy’s fur, covered in motor oil and dirt, it was clear that she had been living outdoors. Once cleaned, Bitsy showered her rescuer with sweet kisses, her eyes reflecting the love and gratitude she felt. As she looked at Daniela, it became evident that the dog had suffered past mistreatment, and despite her fears, she began to decompress, recognizing that there are kind humans.
Minutes turned to hours as Bitsy grew more relaxed, showcasing her playful side with zoomies and joyfully engaging with her new toys. However, Daniela faced a challenge as her own dog showed jealousy towards Bitsy, leading her to seek a rescue organization that could care for the newly rescued pup.
Bitsy Moves Into A Foster Home
Fortunately, 4 Paws Kiddo Rescue, based in Los Angeles, stepped in to assist. They agreed to take Bitsy into their care, where it was soon revealed during a vet check that she was pregnant.
Bitsy was then placed with an experienced foster named Sarah, who would help her prepare for the arrival of her puppies in a nurturing environment. Although it was hard for Daniela to let go of the sweet Bitsy, she knew that the pup was headed to a safe and loving place.
Bitsy feels happy and relieved that she is no longer alone. She eagerly awaits the arrival of her puppies and hopes to find a loving family to adopt her.
