I can’t fathom the depth of hopelessness and fear that a sweet Pit Bull must have felt after being tied to a pole and abandoned in frigid nighttime temperatures. The pup shivered and struggled to keep his balance, but tragically, the neighbors who saw him remained indifferent to his plight. After enduring hours on a freezing sidewalk, he was engulfed by sheer desperation, wondering if anyone would find compassion to extend a helping hand in his darkest hour.
The Pup Breathes A Sigh Of Relief
Fortunately, compassionate passers-by discovered the abandoned Pittie and hurried to his rescue. When the dog, later named Lentil, spotted them approaching, his heart swelled with hope, and he began wagging his tail. The Good Samaritans, while untying him, gently stroked his head, trying to comfort him, feeling heartbroken as they watched him shiver. They made attempts to locate Lentil’s owner by sharing his photo and story on lost and found pages.
When Sarah Borok, a rescuer, learned about Lentil, she felt a strong urge to help and found him a temporary foster home.
Once Lentil was in a loving home, he quickly showed signs of being housetrained. A few days later, Sarah picked him up to foster him. The moment he moved in, he captured her heart with his sweet nature and love for snuggling.
“I immediately fell madly in love with him… He’s so cuddly and just so gentle and very well behaved,” Sarah told The Dodo.
Lentil longed for affection and sought every opportunity to be close to Sarah, eager to absorb her love.
Lentil Is Looking For His Forever Humans
Although Lentil loved everyone he encountered and got along well with both dogs and cats, his presence didn’t sit well with Sarah’s cat, Barbara. Heartbroken but determined, Sarah began working with Rain Or Shine Rescue in New York City, searching for the perfect forever home for Lentil.
The rescue received numerous adoption applications for Lentil and they are diligently reviewing them to find a family that will best suit the sweet Pittie. Lentil is eager to meet his forever family and shower them with affection.
