Senior Dog Dubbed ‘Ugly and Old’ Finds Renewal with a Compassionate Rescuer

Date:

As humans, we possess the remarkable ability to achieve incredible things. It’s uplifting to witness the positive impact we can make when we unite for a common purpose.

Unfortunately, we are also capable of committing dreadful acts that can sometimes overshadow our good deeds.

The plight of many dogs living on the streets is heartbreaking, as they often face mistreatment at the hands of strangers, and some even endure outright abuse. Yet, they do not deserve any of it.

Take Arty, for instance—he faced ridicule from those who deemed him “ugly and old,” which worsened his situation. But his story wasn’t one of despair; it was just waiting for a compassionate individual to change his fate forever.

There Is Hope After All

When rescuer Arturo Flores received a call about a senior dog who was injured and living on the streets of California, he promptly drove to the location.

Upon arrival, he found the dog lying motionless on the street, leading him to suspect a severe injury.

Upon investigation, he discovered that Arty’s leg was broken, which explained the dog’s inability to move.

Shivering and appearing frightened of those around him, Arty was simply too hurt to flee.

After inquiring nearby, Arturo found out that Arty had been lying there for three days without anyone stepping in to help or call for assistance. He must have been suffering immensely.

It puzzles me why some people struggle to show compassion towards animals—after all, Arty did nothing to earn such cruelty.

Once he had completed his examination, Arturo carefully transported Arty back to his vehicle and took him to a shelter in California.

Arty Is In Good Hands

The veterinarian indicated that surgery would definitely be necessary for Arty’s broken leg, but with an important caveat.

Due to his age, bloodwork was essential to determine whether surgery could be safely performed.

His kind rescuers provided Arty with a warm bath and ensured he was cleaned up. He appeared rather baffled, as if he couldn’t comprehend that he was finally safe.

They administered painkillers and applied a cast to his leg, offering him some relief while allowing him to heal.

Arty is gradually improving, though his recovery will require time. There was a visible sadness in his eyes, though the exact cause was hard to identify.

The rescuers have no knowledge of what Arty endured before finding him on the streets. It’s probable that he faced abandonment and abuse, but that remains unverified.

Nonetheless, this sweet dog is now in capable hands with his rescuers, who will ensure he finds a home where he will be treated with love and kindness.

While we can’t predict what the future holds for him, I am confident his rescuers are dedicated to securing his well-being and happiness wherever his journey leads him.
