Rescuers Stunned to Discover Dog Spent Days Tethered to a Pole Before They Came to His Aid

Date:

Encountering a stray dog wandering helplessly on the street has regrettably become a frequent sight these days. However, it is truly heartbreaking to discover a lovely white puppy not only abandoned but also restrained to a pole on the roadside.

This was the unfortunate situation faced by a young white Husky found on the streets of Santa Monica, California. Along with being tied up incessantly, he was also subjected to the unkindness of homeless individuals who tormented him daily.

Despite this, the brave six-month-old puppy kept a smile on his face, holding onto the hope that one day, a compassionate person would arrive to rescue him.

Rescued From The Streets

A joyful morning ultimately arrived for this white Husky named Buckley. Just as Buckley was enduring his darkest moments, a local rescuer happened to be passing by.

Upon seeing him, she was shocked that such a beautiful creature had been suffering alone on the street, tethered to a fence for so long.

Without hesitation, she sprang into action, and in no time, this pup was in the protective care of the experienced rescuers from Love Leo Rescue. After meeting him, the rescue team was astonished by the resilience and cheerful spirit this dog possessed, despite his circumstances.

“Buckley is an extraordinary dog,” said Love Leo Rescue director Sasha Abelson in an interview with The Dodo. “He is well-adjusted and affectionate and didn’t let his past affect his delightful personality.”

The team ensured he received abundant love so that all of his injuries would heal swiftly. In return, he filled the environment with his incredible positive energy, bringing joy to everyone at the center.

Unfortunately for the rescue team, Buckley’s stay at the center was short-lived, as they swiftly found him a foster home.

His new adventure was ready to commence.

On The Road To A New Life

When a woman named Angela learned of Buckley’s distressing tale from the streets of Santa Monica, her heart went out to him, and she chose to become his foster mother.

The bond between them was instantaneous, and Buckley adjusted swiftly to his new life with Angela’s family. Coming from such challenging circumstances, this new reality felt like a true paradise for him.

“Buckley is a typical, joyful husky,” Abelson remarked. “He enjoys playing with his canine companions, mastering new tricks, hiking, and snuggling with his humans. He is simply an ideal family pet.”

Moreover, Buckley brought something wonderful to his foster mom’s life; he became a source of healing for her troubled spirit.

“Buckley is an incredible dog! He is our foster who has supported my recovery from PTSD. He requires regular activity and a routine…which turns out is exactly what I need as well,” Angela expressed in an Instagram post.

However, this lovely canine soul continues to await his forever home, where he can finally find his greatest happiness.

“Buckley would thrive in an active household, preferably one with another friendly and balanced dog,” Abelson commented. “A dog sibling would be fantastic for him.”

Considering the authentic beauty that this dog embodies, inside and out, he should not have to wait much longer for his happy ending.
