This poor Pittie was trapped for days in an abandoned Missouri school, his desperate cries for help going unheard. Despite the challenging circumstances, Ollie held onto hope, peering through a broken window, longing for his savior. One day, that savior finally arrived!
Patiently Waiting For Days For Someone To Notice Him
For Donna Lochmann, a compassionate dog rescuer from Stray Rescue of St. Louis, witnessing Ollie’s plight through that broken window was heartbreaking. He was there, silently pleading for help with his glimmering eyes. And then – Donna showed up!
Nobody knows how Ollie found himself trapped in an abandoned school, but when Donna arrived, she was met with a shocking scene. This Pittie had been surviving on piles of trash and broken glass for days, without access to proper food, water, or a comfortable resting place, surrounded by the remnants of deserted school rooms littered with debris.
Jumping Into His Savior’s Arms
Throughout her career, Donna has encountered various dogs and managed different behaviors, preparing her for a possible worst-case scenario. To her surprise, when she approached Ollie, he melted right into her arms, as if he had been waiting for this moment all along. This gentle Pittie displayed nothing but love and trust!
“You could tell it wasn’t an aggressive stance at all. This dog ended up not having an aggressive bone in his body,” Donna recalls, adding that Ollie was gentle enough to allow her to leash him without issue. The big cuddle bug eagerly gave way to Donna, reveling in the comfort of her affection.
Eventually, Donna and her team helped lower Ollie down through the window and transported him to a facility for further care. The wonderful news was that Ollie had no injuries at all. He quickly won the hearts of the staff and formed bonds with everyone at the shelter, eagerly awaiting his forever home.
Ollie Can’t Stop Smiling In A New Home
Cassie and her partner discovered Ollie’s story through social media and instantly knew he was the dog they wanted to adopt! “My friend sent us the rescue video, and we immediately fell in love,” Cassie shares. Their first encounter showed that they were destined to be a family. Ollie was overwhelmed with joy to meet his new humans, proving to be the biggest lovebug!
“He doesn’t remember being all alone, scared, and starving in that school. All he knows is what’s happening now and he is SPOILED,” the SRSL team stated on their Facebook.
Ollie adapted quickly to his new home, enjoying life with his new mom and dad. He now goes for walks, shares their bed, relishes belly rubs, and meets new friends every day! From a life of abandonment to embarking on beautiful adventures, Ollie is now living his best life with loving parents!
