Missouri Clean-Up Crew Discovers Mysterious Moving Bag

Date:

Sometimes, the most unexpected things come from the most ordinary places. For Brian Waldrop, the Stream Team Coordinator at Missouri Department of Conservation, and his colleagues, the day started like any other. Together with the Stream Teams, Beyond Housing, and citizens from Tiered Community Teams, he was scouting locations for clean-up when something surprising happened—an accidental discovery that would change everything.

The group came across a pile of trash topped with a large black bag. When Bryan approached to investigate because it seemed to be moving, he was shocked to find a little puppy nestled among bottles and candy wrappers! This innocent creature was the victim of cruel abandonment, and it broke his heart.

What Was In A Bag?

Brian couldn’t believe his eyes when he realized he had just uncovered a precious life that deserved a chance. “It’s a happy ending story or at least a happy beginning story. He was found in a black trash bag in a pile of trash,” Brian shared with FOX 2 St. Louis.

The Most Heartwarming Love Story

Instead of abandoning the pup, Brian made a lifesaving call. Without hesitation, he decided to take the puppy in as his own, providing him with a forever home. When the Department shared the news in a Facebook post, the response was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing gratitude and happiness.

Brian noticed the pup’s fur was initially a shade of yellow, but after a nice, long bath, he was astonished to see a bright white puppy emerge! “He was quite yellow. When I got him home and washed him, he magically turned white,” Brian remarked.

Though he took his time choosing a name, Brian eventually decided to call his little rescue buddy Dude!

“His first name could’ve been Hefty. And then it was Be Well My Son, and then it turned into Welston… A good name could be Shawn, or Riley… Right now, it’s just good ole’ Dude. He’s just a cute little puppy,” he continued.

After the traumatic experience of being abandoned, Dude is now fortunate to have a loving home where he can thrive and enjoy new adventures without ever being afraid of abandonment again.
