Upon receiving a text from Tania Balah about an abandoned Doberman, the dedicated team at Hope For Paws, a non-profit rescue organization in Los Angeles, California, rushed to the scene.
Katie McKittrick, one of the rescuers, came prepared with a leash and a hamburger, knowing these would significantly help in the rescue process.
The Doberman was patiently waiting for her owners, holding onto hope that they would return, but they never did.
Fortunately, she was now under the care of loving rescuers.
Rescue Mission

Katie and fellow rescuer Tania approached the sweet pup, now named Florence, with utmost care to avoid startling her.
They offered her the hamburger to help alleviate her hunger and build trust, which enabled them to gently place a leash around her neck and eventually into a crate for transport.

The rescue operation unfolded seamlessly, with Florence safely on her way to the vet in no time.
At The Vet
Upon arrival at the veterinary clinic, Florence was immediately scanned for a microchip.
Finding none, the veterinarian’s team knew that they had to pamper this lovely girl with a bath to help her look radiant and ready for a new family.

Following her bath, the vet ran several medical tests and made an intriguing discovery.
Florence’s blood tests revealed that she was diagnosed with Von Willebrand’s disease, a genetic condition that affects blood clotting.
This common hereditary disorder results from a deficiency or malfunction of Von Willebrand factor – a critical protein necessary for effective blood clotting.
In canines, this condition impairs the platelets’ capability to stop bleeding and form clots.
Consequently, Von Willebrand’s disease can cause prolonged bleeding from surgeries and minor injuries and may even lead to spontaneous bleeding from the nose or gums in severe cases.

Fortunately, a blood transfusion and laparoscopic procedure were all that was necessary to ensure Florence regained her health and happiness.
With her undeniable beauty, Florence quickly caught the attention of the caring team at the Los Angeles Animal Rescue, who offered her a loving foster home.
Now, Florence is enjoying a joyful life with her new family and furry siblings.

She relishes her days running in the sunshine, playing with her toys, and snuggling up for cozy naps.
It’s only a matter of time before she finds a forever home filled with love and care.
Final Word
The issue of dog abandonment is a serious and ongoing concern.
Many people fail to remember that animals have emotions, and leaving them behind exposes them to distress, health risks, and significant emotional turmoil.
If you can no longer care for your pets, please consider bringing them to your local shelter, where they can find a fresh start.
Every animal deserves that chance.
