We’ve all seen our dogs exhibit quirky behavior or act a bit differently when they’re around their favorite people or things!
Typically, they become more animated, engaged, and unstoppable! However, for Radley and her loving pawrents, the situation is quite the opposite.
This naturally “chaotic” canine gal maintains her enthusiasm at an all-time high – that’s just her personality.
But when her grandparents come to visit, she changes dramatically! With her two “older friends” present, she morphs into the calmest, gentlest Pittie.
And what’s the secret behind this transformation? Who knows!
From The Master Of Chaos To The Gentlest Lovebug
Lara and Brooke, the couple residing in New Hampshire, have always been accustomed to Radley’s “chaotic nature.” To clarify, when I say chaos, I mean a whirlwind of fun and boundless energy!
Sure, there are moments when she gets a bit destructive, like creatively staging little shows or jokingly nudging her mommas with a fitness ball to instigate playtime.
However, when her grandparents arrive, she becomes an entirely different pup.
“She has always been the life of the party. She’s just brimming with energy. However, when it comes to her grandparents, she displays incredible patience and gentleness with them. We can’t help but feel a bit envious,” Lara and Brooke shared with The Dodo.
This doesn’t mean she doesn’t enjoy fun times with her grandma and grandpa; she simply becomes more composed and much gentler in their presence.
During their visits, she ensures to indulge in extended cuddle sessions, not moving an inch. Early in the morning, she even uses the I-love-you button to rouse them from sleep.
And why does she behave this way?
Who can say for certain? It could be that Radley enjoys the fantastic experience of playing with bubble guns in her grandparents’ backyard. Or it might be due to the fact that they lavish her with delicious puppuccinos at every opportunity. Clearly, it’s anyone’s guess!
The “Why I Love Grandpawrents More” Mystery Unraveled, Or Is It?
To be fair, nothing that her grandpawrents do comes as a surprise. Lara and Brooke consistently strive to create fresh experiences for Radley every single day. Yet, at the end of the day, this fabulous Pittie seems to gravitate more towards the activities that her grandparents engage in.
“She is generally more captivated by whatever her grandparents are doing,” her momma notes.
She enjoys getting involved and “helping out” in the kitchen. And when she’s not being overly productive, Radley relishes low-key quality time with her grandpa and grandma.
But isn’t that just wonderful? How amazing to switch between being a hyper active zoomie one day and sharing moments of wisdom the next!
In the end, it’s not that Brooke and Lara don’t appreciate those exhilarating horseball games in the yard or Radley’s delightful zoomies indoors.
Sure, Radley’s intensity sometimes surpasses their abilities, but that’s just because she’s always one step ahead, driven by her athletic spirit.
What’s certain is that her mommas wouldn’t change a thing about Radley. Despite her “dual personality syndrome,” she embodies everything they desired in a dog.
She’s incredibly fun, a wonderful companion, and the best hiking partner one could wish for. Even though she seems to favor her grandparents in some regards, it absolutely doesn’t mean she isn’t still Lara and Brooke’s cherished little girl.
She can be both! And she undoubtedly is!
