Many dogs possess extraordinary abilities that might surprise you. Unfortunately, only a select few ever get to experience this.
Take Mocha, for example; she is a gifted foster parent! Although she has never given birth and doesn’t particularly like puppies, this remarkable girl shines in her role caring for foster kittens!
Mocha’s Resilience Impressed Her New Owner
Sabria Hector, a dedicated rescuer at Montego Bay Animal Haven, encountered Mocha in a heartbreaking state. She was discovered with a seriously injured leg and had difficulty moving.
However, after a few weeks of love and care, Mocha revealed her extraordinary spirit to the world.
She not only bounced back from her leg injury but also blossomed into the favorite of all!
“She had a broken leg and was very timid initially. It was quite challenging for her to walk with the splint, but she tried her hardest,” MBAH shared on Facebook.
It didn’t take long for Sabria and Mocha to form a deep bond. Within months, her foster mom transformed into her lifelong companion, and just like that, Mocha found her forever home!
But this was just the start! Sabria could never have anticipated that Mocha possessed a hidden skill – one that would enable her to nurture countless abandoned newborn kittens!
The Most Unlikely Kitten Foster Mom
When Sabii first introduced Grogu, a newborn kitten, to the household, she was uncertain about Mocha’s reaction. As a precaution, she kept her dog at a distance, but then something extraordinary occurred!
Upon seeing the little kitten, Mocha instinctively shifted into motherly mode and began grooming him. Within days, she had adopted the role of his second mother. She watched him taking bottle feeds, cleaned him after meals, and even helped him with potty training.
“Mocha has embraced the role of a surrogate mother. She cleans him up after every feeding and even helps stimulate him for potty training. She also loves to snuggle with him,” MBAH articulated.
For reasons Sabria couldn’t decipher, something within Mocha made her the ideal foster mother!
Interestingly, Mocha wasn’t particularly fond of puppies. She displayed indifference towards the canine pups coming and going in Sabii’s home, while her affection for kittens was a completely different matter.
Ultimately, Grogu found his forever home in Pennsylvania, and Mocha continued to nurture more kittens.
As they grew up, she would even take on the role of a big sister, ensuring the kittens didn’t play too roughly by separating them or looking out for their safety.
Currently, Mocha is relishing her perfect life as a foster co-mom. She assists numerous kittens in reaching their full potential and thriving as healthy cats, all thanks to Grogu, her son in Pennsylvania.
