They both eventually wanted a dog. But their current condo was too small, making it unsuitable for raising a pet. The odds were not in their favor.

“Nicole fell head over heels for Tatum’s image on their website. It was love at first sight. When she shared it with me, she declared, ‘This is my dog,’” recounts Charles. “For two months, I maintained that I didn’t share the same sentiment until Tatum’s foster contacted Nicole, shared insights on his personality, and sent additional photos beyond the one we saw online,” Charles shared with The Spruce Pets.
That spring marked a season of transformation for the Levers, the most significant being the arrival of their newest family member.

When Tatum’s former foster agreed to let him stay with Nicole temporarily to assess if he’d be a good fit for their family, she knew she was saying farewell one last time.
Everyone who encountered Tatum was instantly smitten by his irresistible charm and his adorably crooked tail that only wags to one side.
A new chapter began for the Levers. Tatum found his forever home in Bangor, Maine, with Nicole and Charles. Kudos to The Pixel Fund; without them, Nicole may never have discovered Tatum or saved him from a high-euthanasia shelter.
There they are: the ideal couple with their cherished dog!
Life couldn’t be any better.

Fast forward three years, and inspiration struck: create a social media presence for Tatum because he’s simply too wonderful to remain undiscovered.
But fate had other ideas. Tatum’s story skyrocketed when someone mistakenly shared his first walk video with a misleading caption: This is Tatum. This is him on his first walk after being rescued.
Of course, it wasn’t his first stroll; it was simply an expression of his excitement.
From that moment forward, everything changed, and Nicole and Charles recognized they had to address Tatum’s newfound fame. Fortunately, everyone wanted a taste of Tatum.
In no time, Tatum’s celebrity status took off, leading to the creation of his TikTok account @hi.this.is.tatum.
Tatum’s irresistible charm, his passion for chicken nuggets, and his comedic flair who lightly jokes about his past life earned him a massive following in no time.
With a considerable following on Instagram and an even larger one on TikTok, Tatum stands out as one of the leading petfluencers.

“Animals in need are entitled to a life of goodness due to their past hardships, and we have the privilege of providing that for them. Tatum is healthy. He is well-fed. He’s still mastering the idea that he doesn’t have to be afraid anymore. And he finds comfort in a cozy bed every night,” his father, Charles, mentioned.
Tatum’s Future Prospects
The future looks exceedingly promising for Tatum and his loving family. The vocal pooch continues to thrive and has plenty more stories to share.
