After adopting Wilee from a woman in Atlanta, Georgia, Cathy was left with no insight into his lineage. But, when she decided to DNA test him through Embark once again, something truly magical unfolded!
Cathy unearthed the fact that Wilee had a brother named Nic – who bore an uncanny resemblance to him!
The resemblance was astonishing, and Cathy couldn’t keep her excitement in check!
“They look like twins, and Wilee doesn’t resemble any of the relatives he’s matched with so far, except for Nic,” shared Cathy in a TikTok video.
She posted this exciting news on TikTok, which garnered thousands of reactions from people worldwide. However, shortly after this revelation about Wilee’s newfound sibling, Cathy had yet another update!
She decided to contact Nic’s family for more insight, fully expecting no reply – only to be astonished again!
“Everyone was commenting, ‘Owners usually don’t reply; you won’t get a response,’ but they responded right away,” Cathy recounted.
The response read:
“Hi Cathy, we adopted Nic from the Alpharetta Humane Society as a puppy in December 2018. All of his siblings were still there.”
The family even shared some adorable childhood photos of Nic, which moved Cathy to tears. Her joy overflowed knowing that her rescued mutt had a twin brother living with another family.
