Why is it that those who endure the most hardships often possess the greatest capacity for love?
I have a feeling Rango would have the perfect response if he could only express himself.
Having lived a lifetime in a neglected and painful environment in West Phoenix, Arizona, Rango, a Pittie Lab mix, never truly understood what love meant. But then, one day, his life took a turn for the better.
When rescuers arrived to liberate him, they had no idea that he would blossom into one of the most affectionate companions around!
Rango: A Symbol of Resilience
Upon being rescued by Poverty’s Pets in Arizona, Rango arrived with his body riddled with open wounds and covered in ticks. He was also extremely timid and frightened of people, likely due to past traumas.
“Rango came to us broken, battered, insecure, and occasionally growly. Over time, he learned that he was in a loving environment, and as he healed physically, he thrived emotionally. Rango simply wants to shower people with kisses… literally,” shared Poverty’s Pets on Facebook.
Once given the opportunity to reveal his true self, everything shifted for Rango.
In a short time, he transformed into a cuddly teddy bear, showing immense gratitude for being rescued. Rango delighted everyone with warm kisses and heart-melting smiles.
Eventually, he found a loving foster home with Lori Jones, who welcomed him with open arms.
He rapidly shed his fears and neglect, evolving into the quirkiest and most entertaining dog in the home!
“Rango represents the incredible forgiving and resilient nature of dogs. He has transitioned from a life of neglect and suffering to becoming a goofy, loving companion,” wrote Lori on Instagram.
Rango adapted wonderfully to his foster environment. He became known for “holding people’s hands” wherever he went, as if he always craved human connection.
Something within him constantly drove Rango to share love with everyone he encountered, which is why he captured so many hearts!
Still Seeking a Forever Home
The one thing Rango truly yearns for is a forever home!
Though he has enjoyed his time with his foster family, the ideal match has yet to knock at the door. While he loves life alongside his current furry companions, Rango needs someone to demonstrate to him what a true home feels like.
Lori firmly believes his time will come soon… he just needs to be patient a while longer. And when that day arrives, she is sure that Rango will utterly enchant his future family with the joy and enthusiasm he radiates every day.
“Despite his background of neglect and cruelty, Rango remains one of the most gentle and joyful dogs you’ll ever encounter,” Lori wrote.
Until that day arrives, Rango enjoys the company of his foster family. And if there’s one thing I can assert with confidence, it’s that he’ll keep wearing that adorable, bright smile while he waits for the right opportunity!
