Lauren Wagner, Toby’s owner, likely rates among the happiest dog moms, and she has the sweetest reason for it.

Each and every morning, Toby wakes up even before she does, patiently waiting by the stairs for her to appear.

“Every morning my 16-year-old dog (who is partially blind and deaf) eagerly waits by the stairs for me, and this is how he reacts when he finally sees me,” Lauren shared in a heartwarming video on her TikTok.

The touching video that captured the hearts of many online depicts Toby in pure joy as he finally sees his beloved owner.

Before Lauren makes her appearance, Toby paces in tiny circles, eagerly awaiting her arrival. His excitement is palpable as they prepare to be reunited.

Once he spots her, he instantly slips into his “cuddle bug mode”. His tail starts wagging, a huge smile spreads across his face, and he joyfully dances around Lauren, overflowing with happiness!

Despite his senior status, Toby transforms back into the most enthusiastic puppy each morning, and Lauren absolutely adores it!

Toby, A Lifelong Companion Through Thick and Thin

Beyond just his morning habits, he’s an enduring friend that every dog parent longs to have alongside them. This is what truly matters to Lauren as she cherishes Toby’s presence in her life.

A few years back, Lauren was diagnosed with a spinal tumor, which drastically changed her life. During this challenging period, Toby remained her devoted companion, supporting her through every moment.

Toby proved to be an outstanding source of support during Lauren’s recovery from spinal surgery. He visited her in the hospital and provided the comfort she needed along the way.

It’s safe to say Toby shone as one of the few bright spots during Lauren’s most challenging days.

“He saved my life. He knows I’m recovering from a spinal tumor. Little does he realize, he’s helped me navigate through my darkest moments,” Lauren shared on TikTok.

He’s a natural therapist, a loving companion, and a caregiver. Most importantly, he’s Lauren’s best friend in the universe. Even as he ages, Toby shows no signs of slowing down in showering his favorite human with affection.

He’s always there through the highs and lows, and Lauren is more than grateful to share her life with him!
