Rescuers Discover Mama Dog Abandoned in Arkansas Home, Only to Find She Had Puppies with Her

Date:

In a heartbreaking turn of events, a mother dog and her puppies were abandoned in an old house in Arkansas when they needed love the most. Concerned for her little ones, the mother sought shelter for them under the house, hiding them away as she felt both helpless and betrayed, yet filled with a fierce determination to protect them.

Joining Forces In Saving The Dog Family

After seeing a Facebook post about the abandoned dog family, experienced rescuer Shyan Noah rushed to help. Although other rescuers attempted to reach the mother dog, she was too frightened to accept assistance. In a fortunate twist, while she was distracted, a few of her puppies were captured. When Noah arrived, she noticed the sorrowful expression on the mother dog’s weary face and made it her mission to earn her trust.

By sitting beside the dog and offering food while talking softly, Noah slowly broke through the protective barrier that the mother had set. Despite her need for help, the mama dog was initially hesitant to trust anyone with her precious babies. However, Noah persisted, hand-feeding the mother dog until she began to trust her. The rescuers eventually set up a humane trap, and to their joy, they successfully rescued the mama dog.

Once she managed to approach the mama dog, Noah felt a wave of relief and joy. “I was able to gain Mama’s trust enough to let me feed her out of my hand and give her short little pets,” Noah shared with The Dodo. Due to the mama dog’s continued wariness, the rescuers opted to use a humane trap to finally bring her to safety.

After securing the mama dog, their focus turned to the fearful puppies, who remained hidden under the house for days, evading capture. But the rescuers’ patience paid off as they devised a way to coax them out.

Puppies Are Finally Secure

Fortunately, the rescuers outsmarted the puppies, who were found to be infested with ticks and fleas. Initially reactive, the little ones soon warmed up to their rescuers through gentle care and food, gradually losing their apprehension as they began to feel safe.

One of the rescuers fell in love with the mama dog and provided her with a forever home, while Noah fostered the puppies who are now thriving and healing. These lively little furballs keep their foster family active, often squeezing through gates to join the rest of the household. “They are happy, healthy little escape artists,” Noah exclaimed.

NOVASTAR RESCUE in Dover, Arkansas, has promised to help find forever homes for the puppies, who are sure to steal the hearts of loving families eager to provide them with the happiness they truly deserve.
