The web is filled with a plethora of articles exploring a dog’s feelings towards humans.
Some people argue that dogs act solely on instinct, while others assert that they possess profound emotions. There are also experts who believe it to be a combination of both perspectives.
Nonetheless, certain moments in the bond between humans and dogs reveal the truth unmistakably, leaving many scientific discussions feeling superficial.
This particular instance features a deaf and blind puppy exemplifying true canine affection for his beloved owner, stirring astonishment even among the staunchest doubters.
He Couldn’t Contain His Emotions

A dog named Bumper was born both deaf and blind, yet when a family first encountered him, they immediately fell for him regardless of his disabilities.
Amy, Bumper’s mom, shared with The Dodo that as time passed, the bond between him and her daughter, Faeron, became exceptionally unique. They were inseparable.
Unfortunately, as Faeron grew older, her life’s path led her away from home and from Bumper. Even so, this devoted dog kept her in his heart, yearning for their reunion.

Eventually, Bumper experienced the moment of his utmost joy.
“She came home for a visit. It had been a while,” Amy recounted.
Describing the emotions displayed during that moment is nearly impossible. Fortunately, Amy chose to capture this heartfelt reunion on video as Bumper detected the scent of his cherished human:
From this video, it becomes quite evident whether dogs are truly attached to humans for something more substantial than just food.
A Joyful, Love-Infused Life

As outlined on Bumper’s official website, Amy’s family first met him when he was just eight weeks old, a meeting that transformed their lives forever. The most fascinating aspect of this dog was that they had no idea about his potential.
It soon became clear that Bumper’s greatest attribute was his complete unawareness of his disabilities.
“In his mind, this must seem like a typical dog’s life,” Amy said with a big smile.
This is particularly evident in his relationship with Faeron, where his blindness and deafness do not hinder him from enjoying joyful moments with his beloved person.

“He enjoys hiking, swimming, running, and even kayaking,” Amy mentioned. “Basically, he engages in almost everything that a sighted and hearing dog would do.”
This allows us to confidently assert that Bumper defies stereotypes about special needs dogs and their ability to live fulfilling lives.
We genuinely hope that Bumper continues to experience a vibrant life, discovering many more scents that bring him indescribable joy, just like in the beautiful story we’re sharing today.
