How do I bid farewell
To a companion who’s been a part of my life for as long as I can remember?
This sentiment resonates deeply in the story of Jaimie and Goose.
Oh Dean Lewis, your lyrics hit hard!
Thinking about saying goodbye to my beloved dog brings tears to my eyes once more. I can only imagine Jaimie’s feelings for Goose that day, even with the knowledge of its temporariness.
He Was Family

Goose entered Jaimie’s life unexpectedly, yet he quickly captured her heart as though he was always meant to be there.
When she became a dog sitter, Jaimie never envisioned that this black Lab would become a vital part of her existence. The initial arrangement was to watch Goose for three Wednesdays, but plans quickly shifted!
Goose turned into an inseparable member of Jaimie’s family, prompting her to alter her entire plan.

Instead of just watching him for three weeks, she and Goose’s owner decided to extend his stay in Jaimie’s life – indefinitely!
“What started as him coming over every Wednesday evolved into him staying with me for two to three weeks at a time,” Jaimie shared with The Dodo.
The rest is history!
Jaimie and Goose quickly became inseparable, creating innumerable memories together. They enjoyed adventures to Central Park in New York City, made countless new friends, snuggled up in their apartment, and even co-parented a kitten.

While Goose may not have been excited about a new kitten named Ciabatta, he gradually accepted that she was now part of the family.
And the cherry on top – he gained a new canine sibling – a dog named Rooster.
“Goose became a part of our family. He’s the reason we decided to get our own dog,” Jaimie shares.

Goose played an essential role in Rooster’s early development, guiding him on socialization and essential dog etiquette.
During their two and a half years together, Goose visited Jaimie’s family and friends, bridging the gap between being a dog sitter and treating Goose as if he were her own!
He truly was family!
Until We Meet Again, Good Boi

Sadly, after two and a half joyful years, Goose’s father informed Jaimie that they were relocating to Miami. Goose’s family found a house there, complete with a yard and a pool just for him!
The silver lining – he won’t need to wear a leash anymore! With all that newfound space, he can roam freely in the yard and on the beach.
Although Jaimie felt heartbroken by the departure, she cherished every moment with her soul mate. She made the most out of the last days they had together with plenty of love and cuddles.
In an emotional farewell video, Jaimie bid her final goodbye to Goose, ensuring him that he would have an amazing time in his new environment!

“You’re going to be swimming every day, and you’ll always have plenty of grass,” Jaimie assures him in the video.
“You transformed my entire life, buddy,” she adds.
However, Jaimie plans to visit Goose as often as she can. She keeps in touch with his family and regularly receives fantastic videos of Goose enjoying his new home.
So, it’s not a farewell! It’s more of a “see you later!”
