A Caring Family Takes Notice of Norman
Just as Norman’s hope began to fade, a compassionate girl spotted him and instantly fell in love.
Her family decided to foster him with the intent to adopt.
Upon moving in with them, Norman was unaware that a significant change was about to unfold in his life. He remained withdrawn and sorrowful, requiring time to adjust to his new home in New York.
The loving family worked diligently with him, showering him with affection and support.

They began gathering his belongings to return them to his original foster.
When Norman saw his mom taking down his crate, he feared he was being returned to the shelter once more.
“He watched me dismantle the rescue crate and put away his belongings, then he hid in a spare room that he usually avoids, sulking in his bed… did he think I was sending him back like everyone else??💔,” Norman’s mom shared on Instagram.
She embraced the pup, assuring him that he would be with them for good.
Norman Discovers a Best Friend
As Norman struggled with his fears, he found a best friend in Maggie, the family’s senior dog.
“He was quite scared at first, but he adored Maggie… She had a calming effect on him,” Norman’s forever mom revealed to GeoBeats Animals.
The two dogs spent countless hours together, providing comfort to one another. Norman always wanted to be near her.
When Maggie needed surgery, Norman stayed right by her side, offering his love and support.
“She had a surgery that required her to stay in one room for a month, and he was right beside her every moment. She was his best friend,” Norman’s mom noted.
Strengthening the Bond with His Mom
Tragically, Maggie crossed the rainbow bridge at fifteen years old.
Norman found it difficult to cope with the loss of his dear friend. His heartbroken mom recognized his pain.
She recognized that both needed to spend quality time together to heal from Maggie’s passing.
Since Norman was not fond of outdoor activities, his devoted mom started taking him for weekly car rides.
Norman loved these outings.
