Woman Stunned to Find Deaf Puppy Sleeping by Pole and Hurries to Help

Date:

Having read numerous accounts of disabled dogs, I often feel a deep sorrow for how many of them are treated by their owners.

Due to their inability to lead a normal life, these dogs frequently face abuse or neglect, which results in a deep mistrust of humans.

This was the unfortunate reality for a sweet deaf pittie who was deserted by her owner near a utility pole in Atlanta.

She had nearly resigned herself to her fate, completely unaware that her life was about to take a turn for the better.

She Had Lost All Hope

As she walked by, a compassionate woman spotted Wally resting on the ground. Initially, she assumed he might be depressed, believing he had been abandoned.

She asked her partner to turn back and check on him. Slowly, the woman made her way toward the pup.

Feeling a surge of fear that Wally might not be alive, she felt relieved to see him breathing.

Thus, she began gently tapping on the ground to wake him up. It was in this moment that she realized this adorable pittie was most likely completely deaf.

Although he appeared a bit bewildered, he seemed delighted to see someone. His tail began to wag, filled with hope that these new arrivals were there to help him.

His new rescuer quickly noticed that he was severely malnourished and likely had not eaten in some time. While he wore a collar, it lacked any informative details.

The woman decided to gently pet him to help him feel relaxed around her. Once he appeared more at ease, she cautiously placed him in her car.

As he sensed the comfort of the ride, he took full advantage of the cozy environment, stretching out on the seat.

His rescuer was relieved to see him feeling safe. This marked the beginning of a wonderful bond between them.

A New Hope for Wally

Once he arrived at her home, she gave Wally a bath and provided him with plenty of nutritious food to help him regain his strength.

She was pleasantly surprised at how quickly this pittie adapted to his new environment. He constantly sought affection and playtime, indicating he was once accustomed to such a lifestyle.

His rescuers understood that they still needed to take him to a veterinarian in Atlanta to check for a potential previous owner.

They trimmed his nails and administered flea and tick medication before checking for a microchip.

When the results indicated that Wally did not have a microchip, they shared his story online to see if anyone would recognize him.

No one responded immediately, but then an unexpected twist occurred. A woman reached out to the rescuers and expressed her desire to adopt Wally.

This was extraordinary news for him, as he was finally going to be with someone who would shower him with the love and care he deserved.

Once everything was finalized, Wally began living his best life, thanks to his wonderful rescuers and his new mom.

Despite all the hardships he endured, he is overjoyed to have a new chance with someone special.
