Abandoned Puppy with a Deformity Discovers Love with Her Perfect Match

Date:

A mother is essential in the development of every puppy, providing the nurturing love needed for these delicate furballs to grow into healthy and joyful dogs.

A little puppy named Moonshine yearned to snuggle in her mother’s warmth and absorb her affection, yet her life began with heartbreak.

Her mother turned her away due to a deformity that hindered her ability to walk.

The four-week-old pup found refuge with Bosley’s Place Inc., a rescue organization in Smyrna, Georgia, dedicated to caring for abandoned newborn puppies.

The rescue team was resolute in helping Moonshine heal and ensuring her happiness.

Moonshine was found to have swimmer syndrome, a rare condition that affects newborn puppies.

The pup’s front legs were spread out to the sides. Her flat rib cage compromised her lung capacity.

The rescue reached out to Beth, a foster caregiver who had experience with puppies with swimmer syndrome.

Moonshine moved to a loving foster home near Atlanta, Georgia, where she was embraced with overwhelming affection.

Beth’s own dogs warmly accepted Moonshine, providing her with companionship and affection.

For the first time, Moonshine began to feel secure and loved.

The Puppy Begins Her Healing Journey

Beth examined her condition and established a treatment plan.

Since Moonshine’s back legs were healthy and she could use them, her foster mom decided to concentrate on her front legs.

“For now, we’re focusing on her front legs and preventive measures to help alleviate and mend her flat ribcage to provide some comfort for her lungs,” wrote Bosley’s Place Inc. on Facebook.

Beth secured Moonshine’s front legs, preventing her from resting flat on her chest. She believed that this would help keep the puppy’s front legs close to her body.

The foster family eagerly anticipated witnessing Moonshine’s transformation.

Beth’s daughters showered Moonshine with affection, providing her with the unconditional love she needed. The puppy hardly noticed that her front legs were taped.

As Moonshine’s foster family continually encouraged her and surrounded her with love, the puppy began her fight for recovery.

A True Fighter

Little by little, she began to walk properly and wag her tail joyfully. She loved playing with Beth’s daughters.

Both Moonshine’s foster family and her rescuers were overjoyed when they saw her start running.

“Moonshine is UNSTOPPABLE! Even her chest is rounding out a bit; we are unbelievably proud of this little fluffy nugget of love,” the rescue shared in a Facebook post.

The lovely puppy thrived in her foster home, along with her furry siblings, radiating happiness from her adorable eyes.

Beth realized that Moonshine truly belonged with them. The resilient puppy won their hearts and filled their lives with joy.

One day, Beth and her husband surprised their older daughter, Jane, on her birthday with the news that they were giving Moonshine a permanent home.

Jane and her sister were ecstatic, showering the puppy with love.

The pup, now renamed Sage, feels like the happiest dog in the world, living her dream life with her adoring family.
