No dog should ever feel the pain of abandonment, and it’s heartbreaking to think of them being rejected by their own humans. Astra and Luna, two adorable puppies, desperately craved their owners’ love but were cruelly discarded under a bridge among the trash.
The lonely, hungry puppies rummaged through the waste, hoping to find something to eat, occasionally glancing into the distance as if waiting for their owner to return. Unbeknownst to them, fate had something wonderful in store—a caring boy ready to rescue them and fill their lives with love.
Helping The Gentle Pups
A compassionate individual noticed the two puppies waiting forlornly under the bridge and contacted the Three Little Pitties Rescue. This Texas rescue organization is dedicated to finding loving homes for street dogs across various states including Washington, Oregon, Utah, Idaho, Virginia, Connecticut, New York, Vermont, and Philadelphia.
Immediately after receiving the call, Alayna, the rescue’s founder, rushed to the scene, bringing her five-year-old son, Cash, along. Upon arrival, they were greeted by the sight of the two puppies, their tails wagging with joy. Cash eagerly asked his mom if they could save the abandoned pups, who responded with kisses as they expressed their gratitude.
As Cash carefully lifted the puppies into his arms, his face radiated happiness, knowing that the furry companions were finally safe.
During their ride to the rescue, Astra and Luna felt a wave of safety wash over them as they were cuddled by their young savior. Alayna beamed with pride, witnessing her son’s compassion and eagerness to help the forgotten fur babies.
“I’ve been heavily involved in rescue for about seven years, and it has really motivated me to teach my son that we’re supposed to take care of the animals in this world. We’re not supposed to pass them by,” Alayna told The Dodo.
Once at the rescue, a volunteer graciously offered to foster the puppies, showering them with love and teaching them essential manners while preparing them for their forever homes.
Pups Move To Their Forever Homes
Two months later, Cash had the joy of visiting Astra and Luna, scooping them up in his arms for hugs and relishing the happiness of their growth. The puppies were equally excited, showering him with kisses as they reunited.
Both furry friends successfully found their loving families and were ready to embark on a new chapter of their lives.
Astra’s forever family discovered her on the rescue’s website and immediately fell in love. When they held her for the first time, their hearts melted, eagerly anticipating her introduction to Puck, her new doggy sibling.
Excited for their new beginnings, Astra’s family—hockey enthusiasts—renamed her Zamboni. Meanwhile, Luna’s new parents were instantly enchanted by her as soon as they met her, thrilled to welcome her into their home.
