Fortunately, a compassionate woman named Lianne Powell became the first to show empathy towards the hungry mother dog and made an effort to assist her.
She brought Vera to a veterinary clinic for immediate care. The veterinarians were astonished by her injuries, especially considering her composed demeanor throughout the ordeal.
They soon realized that Vera had recently given birth and was on a mission to find her lost puppies.
Determined to help, they asked Vera to guide them to her pups. First, they put a cast on her broken leg and cautiously assisted her in walking.
Once they saw she was able to move, they felt optimistic about her recovery. They returned to the location where Lianne discovered her and began their search for the puppies.

The Quest for the Puppies
The rescuers were unaware of how long the puppies had been alone, so they needed to act swiftly.
After Vera had limped for a couple of miles, they came across an abandoned house. They felt this could be the place. A broken car lay nearby, prompting them to inspect it.
They heard soft whimpers coming from inside the vehicle. Upon checking, they were astonished to discover 10 puppies.
