A Kind Soul Reaches Out for Help
A man named Anthony Meija noticed the lost pup wandering through his neighborhood.
Meija inquired with his neighbors if anyone recognized the dog, but regrettably, no one had any information.
The compassionate individual chose to capture her.
Understanding that Daffy was likely hungry, he put out some food. The weary pup couldn’t resist and stepped into his yard.
Once she was inside, Meija swiftly closed the gate.
The pup nestled in the corner of the yard, uncertain about whom to trust.
The kind-hearted man reached out to Hope For Paws for assistance, and Katie McKittrick responded, heading to the location to rescue the dog.
Upon arriving at Meija’s home, McKittrick spotted the frightened dog in the corner of the yard.
Building Daffy’s Trust
The compassionate rescuer understood that the pup was scared and spoke to her in a gentle voice.
As Daffy heard McKittrick’s voice, she ventured out from her hiding spot, looking curiously in her direction.
McKittrick moved closer and offered her a treat to win her trust.
Initially, the pup would snatch the food and retreat back to the corner.
However, she gradually began to realize that McKittrick’s intentions were friendly, and she started to lower her defenses.
When the pup finally allowed McKittrick to touch her, the rescuer promptly secured Daffy with a Lucky Leash.
She gently lifted the dog into her arms and carried her to the car, where Daffy’s eyes sparkled with a newfound hope and sense of security.
A Fresh Start
McKittrick transported her to C.A.R.E.S. (California Animal Rescue Emergency Service), where Daffy underwent a medical evaluation.
Following a refreshing bath from her rescuer, Daffy appeared relaxed and cheerful.
Daffy thrived in the outdoors alongside McKittrick.
The pup joyfully dashed around the yard, a wide smile brightening her face. She was filled with playful energy.
Grateful for her rescuer’s kindness, Daffy looked at McKittrick with adoration, seizing every chance to shower her hero with affectionate kisses.
LA Animal Rescue has offered to take Daffy in, dedicating themselves to fostering her and helping her find the forever home she deserves.
